New ipod shuffle not detected by itunes.

Usually when I get a new ipod I just plug it into my laptop and itunes will immediately detect it. However when I plug in my new ipod shuffle nothing happens, nothing is detected in itunes (No devices on the left panel.) Why could this be?

 

I have this problem sometimes with my iPod touch, here are my solutions.

1st - Make sure your using the iPod touch cord, my iPod Nano cord is able to charge my iPod touch, but it doesn't let it be recognized by iTunes.

2nd - Make sure your usb drive on your computer is functional, to do this plug something else in it like a USB, or an external hard drive, or even a cooling fan; just to make sure it works.

3rd - If all else fails try it on a different computer and see if it works there.

 

Update your iTunes, I can almost guarantee this will fix it.

 

Yeah update itunes if everything else fails you could save all your music delete everything that has to do with itunes and then reinstall

 

Updating Itunes still hasn't worked for my Iphone 3GS to become detected on Itunes :/.
