Sure, sometimes people may get wrongly accused if they seem to be doing something out of the ordinary, but people who spend a lot of time in the Black market section tend to get a good sense of what trades seem legit and when something seems amiss, is it wrong to try to warn less educated users?

In my opinion, it is not unreasonable for buyers to request in game verification with a mod/OMM when dealing with trades that they feel, for whatever reason, seem suspicious.

What's worse, someone being mildly accused of not being legit, (which wasn't even really the case), which can easily be disproved by the seller, or some poor new member sending hundreds of dollars in the mail (in this case) never to see it or any item's again?

No one likes to be accused of anything malicious, but for the sake of safe trading, people should swallow their pride and agree to something as simple as a 30 second in game verification with mods (especially for large trades).

 

Mods are over powered, they see something that may be a bit 'out of the rules' and straight away infract cause some are power crazy and think they're good at it..

What are you talking about? We can't predict the future and ban people we think might scam.

 

In my opinion after looking through various things it seems the staff do a well job. They are only capable of doing so much.

 

At the end of the day, mods are the ones we are supposed to look up to and they're supposed to set an example. If they are making mistakes liek this even one or two of them it gives the other moderators a bad name.

And your thread title - "i'm trying to stop scammers, but mods are stopping me" has nothing to do with what you actually posted. What you posted is a bunch of confusing random nonsense about how someone was banned for something and you were wrongfully(?) banned. I'm confused.

 

I knew the guy selling the rares was a fake, and attempting to scam members, so I posted on his thread requesting a mod to verify his items before anyone trades with him, and my post was infracted & removed. If others had seen my post, they could've been more cautious, but due to it being removed, there's a chance the guy who was scammed wouldn't have been, had my posts remained.

Hence the title 'I'm trying to stop scammers (by getting mod verification, etc) and the mods are infracting my posts and deleting them (stopping me)

And no, you don't post in someone's thread like that. Even if you KNOW they're fake, that's still disrespectful. You could've contacted a mod or reported the thread.

 

They definitively shouldn't of given you an infraction. but you should of posted it under report a scammer.

Some reports go unanswered for at least a week+, my aim was top stop people being scammed from him, that was ruined when a mod infracted me, and removed the posts.

The mod could've at least verified the items before removing my posts.

We don't IP ban on sythe.
And contacting a mod would have been your best option.
The infraction, imo, was warranted.

 

generally when people are infracted for these reasons its because they're reported. mods that do reports get caught by technicalities and are pretty much obligated to infract for these things that are "out of the rules".
