Setting up IE1394_2 (Firewire) on the motherboard

I'm trying to install a firewire slot into my motherboard. Now bear with me because I don't know all of the exact terms, but I know what I'm doing.

Okay, basically from the actual plug-in part on the outside of the case, runs a cable from the firewire port, with 8 separate cables on the end. The 8 "mini" cables are labeled as TPA+. TPA-, GND, GND, TPB+, TPB-, VG, and VP.

The problem is is that the slot on the motherboard (appropriately labeled IE1394_2) has 9 slots, and according to the motherboard manual I need to have two 12v "mini cables" and a third GND, which I do not have.

I also have two cables that the manual doesn't mention, the VG and VP cables.

    Motherboard is a Asus M4A78-E
