Terrible song and far from the best drummer. That's a bold statement coming from someone who isn't a fan of drums.

 

It looks to me like he totally slams on just about every pad he can find on a drumset, to the beat. Sure, it sounds alright, but it's a stretch saying he's the best IMO.

 

As a drummer, I can tell you that there are ALOT better than Barker. While he is a good drummer, your stretching it by saying he is the best.

In my opinion, Lang is a WHOLE LOT BETTER than Barker.

 

this has been said so many times and talked down by people who know a little bit about drumming, He isnt the best but yes he is very good.

 

Ive been drumming for bout 5 years now, and you get to a point where you realize, the faster and harder you play does not correlate to how "good" you are. In fact, the majority of people who just beat the drums up sound the worst! Theres SO much more to it then that. Barker is quick, and can play a punk beat better then most, but thats about where it ends. Listen to some good funk drumming, theres alot of "feeling" and technique that takes so long to learn, and more importantly, understand to be able to play it.

BTW, im not calling myself some all-knowing rock god. Just saying from my point of view.
