Right well google isn't helping me because its not giving me a simple yes or no answer aha,

I'm from England, and I want to go to college, I've heard from some people you get academic years of college free, the same 2 years after you've left highschool, I've heard from others 3, and others until your 19 or until your 20..

This year is the second year after school, and the third year starts in September, I can't afford to pay for college as I'll have to pay rent and I can't work full time and go college full time..

So I turn 19 on October 26th, and I'm going to an open evening tomorrow, and gonna get an interview for a course, I'll be able to get the year for free right?

Also I went from doing a proffesional cookery course for 6 months and quit and applied for another college and got turned down for Animal care because I quit the other college and i'll be classed as a 'high risk student' or some bullshit, do you think I should hide to this college about leaving the college i attended and pretend I've never been college?

and will my mum still get the child tax credits? or whatever they're called, the thing where you get like £60 a week if your childs still in education

    • Students aged between 19 and 23
      • studying a qualification that is below Level 2 or are studying their first full level 2 or 3 qualification may be eligible for free tuition fees.

Presuming you can enquire about cost at the open evening anyways. And if you didn't get the qualification at the college you dropped out of then they'll likely never know any different.

Either way you don't need to worry because you don't have any apparent evidence of being at another college besides them phoning every college there is and enquiring about every student they take on.
