Anything You Have to Watch Out for With Purchased Accounts?

I bought an alt for RS3 and I need to know if you can get banned for logging in on the same client as with your main. Should I use a VM+proxy or something? What's the play here.

I'm thinking something like residential proxies, maybe wiping the cache after every use, or even a VM. Do we know if jagex only IDs accounts based on IP and not cache info?

 

If you bought an alt and not planning to bot/do anything malicious, then you can use the same residential IP

 

Yeah, but, what happens if the person who registered it like 1.5 decades ago goes "Hurr durr I found a book with my password in it for that account I only used once?" I've set an email (It never had one), changed the pass, set up 2fa, the whole 9 yards, but there's still that lingering thought in my mind that somehow the account could be recovered.

Also, let's just say for a moment that while I do not plan to bot, I do have some malicious intent that would require looking after a larger-than-normal threat matrix. How would you run multiple clients but only tunnel one at a time, maybe some sort of multibox? I don't want to automate anything, just make sure my main account never gets proxied but my alt account always is.

 

To answer your first part, the original owner (OO) can ALWAYS recover their account, so it is essential to buy from trusted users. Also, say the OO recovers your new alt. Even if they bot on the account or RWT, it will not affect your main because the IPs will differ. The only thing you really have to worry about is losing your account because the person you got it from was a scumbag.


For the other part, if you do not want your main account banned in any way, it is simple... DO NOT bot or multibox. Just play the game for what it is, it seems your account has good levels, and I do not want to see your hard work go to waste.
