[Food] Taco Bell - Beefy Fritos Burrito + Triple Layer Nachos

Taco Bell introduced a dollar menu and I was going to try all of the items until I realized I don't really care for them.





I don't have a picture of the nachos because I ate them. It had a generous amount of crappy refried beans, a good amount of nacho cheese, and a good amount of red sauce. I don't usually enjoy chips with beans, so the nachos were alright. For the price, I'd rather get nachos and cheese (which retails for the same price as these). Nacho cheese is my weakness, so my favorite items at Taco Bell always have it. I don't really have an opinion on the sauce. It didn't seem to do much no matter how I had the sauce, but the cheese was great. High 3/5. If they used beef instead, then it would be so much better, but I doubt they'd price it at 99 cents.

The "spicy" tostada uses beans as well. You can get one made with beef at Del Taco for the same price and it's not THAT bad. A bit too crunchy, if you ask me. Tl;dr didn't buy the spicy tostada.

I wish a took a picture of the wrapped Frito burrito, but the size of the burrito isn't bad for 99 cents, despite what my photo might make it out to look like.

It is NOT a beefy crunch burrito. It uses a different rice which plays no role in the taste of the burrito (it didn't in the beefy crunch burrito as well). It uses normal Fritos. I thought the normal Fritos wouldn't be a big deal, but it is. All it adds is a crunch, but it doesn't add the flavor of the Flamin' Hot Fritos. I'll probably do what I used to do and buy a bag of Flamin' Hot Fritos and manually add them in. I always wanted just a few more Fritos. This burrito also doesn't have sour cream. So, it has cheaper to produce rice as well as the absense of sour cream, and what feels like a bit smaller of a burrito, but still fine, for the same pricepoint.

Whatever, I thought to myself. I don't even like sour cream, so I think that's a good thing. The burrito tasted great and it tasted like well beef, cheese, something crunchy, and a bit of tortilla. Rice wasn't really there, but it is filler and it is ultimately more food. For 99 cents, it really fills you up. 5/5 it's good! I am getting this again.

It's no Beefy Crunch Burrito, but it is still a fine purchase. I thought I wasn't going to like it for some reason. I really don't know why they are using regular Fritos!

It really isn't as wimpy as my picture makes it look. It's like taking a dick pic - you have to do it from the right angle.

tl;dr Frito Burrito very good. Nachos meh.

Try the chicken mini quesadilla. Its different then the regular, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

 

Just for you, I'll try both of the quesadillas. The reason I didn't want to is because they are usually really small and wimpy, which I'm still sure they are. I got one from Del Taco and it was pathetic.

 

Id say its about an 8" tortilla folded. The chicken they use is shredded, pretty good tbh. Im sure the beef is ground beef which doesnt sound too appealing.

 

It's a dollar so it isn't a big loss. I must do it for science so I can answer the "beef or chicken?" question.

 

Best thing at Taco Bell is the crunch wrap supreme, or the cool ranch Doritos locos tacos nikkas

 

The best item used to be the lava menu in general. I used to always buy a side of lava sauce to use at home and for whatever I bought at Taco Bell. Lava Tacos are a good way to get them, but it's more cost effective to buy a side and add it to regular tacos.

That said, currently the best item is both the Crunchwrap and this Frito burrito. I've always loved the Frito burrito and the Crunchwrap. I tried the Locos tacos but they don't do much for me. I have some flavored shells that I'm going to review once I make tacos out of them.
