    Humans: worst violators of hypocrisy?

This is something I think about all the time. It is a topic i am torn on and i will explain why.

The main dilemma for me is whether to support human actions such as hunting, butchering (cows for meat, etc), and pets...or not.

I do believe that the food chain is simply nature and animals have no choice but to end the life of other animals in order to sustain their own (so humans also have the same right..) . But it is not necessarily the killing of these animals (for eating and survival) that i see as the problem.

The problem is how most humans feel about things like aliens. This may seem like a joke at first, but it is not. It has been said by countless scholars, books, and the like that it is truly impossible that aliens do not exist. This is not a thread trying to prove the existence of aliens so i will get to the point. My point is about how humans feel about aliens (in theory, of course). Oftentimes, when people think about aliens, they think about evil human-like (or not) creatures that want nothing more than to perhaps kill people, probe people, destroy our planet (whether for their own benefit or not), exterminate our race, etc. And when these people think about these things, they look at said aliens in disgust and label them as "evil". Even if they have those plans/motives that i have just mentioned, are they evil? This is where hypocrisy comes in...us humans look at them as evil....but fail to see the truth...that we, as humans, regularly slaughter, enslave, probe, hunt (killing less intellectual life forms for fun?...), and destroy the habitats(planet equivalent) of less intelligent life forms (animals). The aliens would essentially be doing the exact same things...except with humans in the place of animals. Humans are so use to being on top of the food chain and the most intelligent life forms on our planet that our arrogance blinds us.

So my dilemma is whether or not to support nature (us killing animals for food etc, and aliens killing us) or to support animal rights simply from resentment towards the ignorants of the human race and its arrogant ways.

I'm finding it incredibly hard to understand your point of view. So in the end you have supporting the animal rights as an option just to spite humans? Your dilemma isn't really a dilemma at all.

yeah sorry if it is a little confusing...it is to me as well...

it may not seem like a dilemma but it is for me because i, personally, have 2 contradicting feelings...

i am a sole believer in nature and our instinctual selves (in which killing animals for survival is ok). but at the same time i must look at the animals as equivalent to us humans and care for them the same because they really are (they are just simply less intelligence which is ultimately what separates us). If you look at our culture and what we do...we kill less intelligent life forms for food, fun, etc.....(this next comment is not meant in any way to be offensive. it is only meant to make a valid point)...so why don't we kill/hunt/ mentally challenged/disabled people, etc.

****i do not support in any way harming other humans. it is a rhetorical question used to make a point. i just think animals should be treated the same (not killing them for food, etc), or do i? Hence dilemma.*****

You should know that legal hunters help keeping balance of nature, so it's not so bad as it looks at first. Not talking about poachers.

Hypocrisy is human nature, just like avarice, lust, and what have you. If a doctor has a patient that's guaranteed going to die, they're not going to just stop treatment, and even that in itself is indirectly hypocrisy. Unless of course they want to die.

I don't think anything else other than humans are capable of hypocrisy.

    Clubbing an animal is brutal.
