Powerbot / RSBot - Hacking Accounts.

For those of you who aren't fully aware of this, there has been an incodent with RSBot where the admins of the forum, which represents it, have used RSBot's client to steal people's accounts since the Feb 1st, of 2011.

This is because of the free trade, and because they have had access to thousands of accounts, the site is currently shut down and hopefully will not be up for a very long time. I used to be a moderator, I resigned.

Anyways, I'd probably not suggest using RSBot, and if you have, I'd suggest changing your password, since they have apperantly not done anything as far as keyloggers, RATing, etc goes. Anyways, hopefully nobody got ripped off here, change your password.

The so called 'leaked pictures' of a person, or persons claiming to be these 'hackers responsible' are not, it's just a troll. It's one of the admins on powerbot. An example of the staffs history.

Echo - Moderator who scammed via recovering accounts.
iLisa - Admin who scammed by changing a Paypal account on a famous persons donation thread.
Sara,Lessthan3,Saratastic - Gave friends her password to her account, and claimed 'hacked' to remain an admin.
Ryan - Gave up Moderator to scam Paypal money, made a living off of it.
Draggin - Moderator, RATs people all the time, or at least used to. Now a VIP on the site.
High - Moderator, Scammed via Paypal, AND Rsgp.
Purrfected X - Moderator, scammed via recovering accounts - as far as I think.
WhopperXZ - Scammed $500 paypal and thought he was badass (LOL)
Now there is.

ToshiXZ, Arbiter, and Fury - All admins apperantly demoted because of the hacking through RSBot's client. Do not take my 100% word these 3 scammed, apperantly Arbiter and ToshiXZ did not - as for Fury, nothing heard from me.

I don't have any doubts of it being the admins, not some guy who thinks he's a beast at trolling.

That thread provides wrong information, it should be deleted, it has someone on hackforums who was an admin saying that they weren't involved in attempt to get unbanned. It's a fucking troll.

 

Hmm.. Interesting. I never really trusted the client anyways, It made me nervous whenever I had to save my password.

And how do you know it's the people from powerbot, and not anybody else. How do you know someone didn't hack a database of a forum you were visiting and matched your password up with an account you posted a picture of.

There are literally hundreds of ways somebody could have hacked your account at any point over the last 3 years, yet you jump on the bandwagon and accuse somebody specific with no evidence that it was actually them, and not your neighbor who is ARP poisoning you over your insecure wireless connection.

They said it was Arbi scripts and he is DDOSing the site.

 

Alright, okay. So, basically, that website has had a huge population of moderators, admins, sponsors, all getting to a point where they were trusted, and then made huge scams. Sponsors I know of who have scammed:

Teal Apples
Sellspin

Anyways, to the point here, the RSBot svn is highly secured. Other than the hack that T_x did a long time ago, when someone gave him access and he turned it into a RAT. there has been no other hackings with RSBot. It just so happens, that on the 2nd of feburary when free trade comes out, the RSBot client is responsible for hacking hundreds probably thousands of accounts. It's no doubt in my mind on a website with such a bad history, that it would have definatly been some administration corruption of greed.

 

I've used RSBot for quite a while now, and have not had a problem. If anyone else is having problems, please let us know.

 

it happened to me and it even said in my notes RSbot hack how far do i half to go to remove it on my computer so it doesnt hapen again? cuz it wont let me uninstall

 

I used them for about 3 months and nothing happen to me...

I've used them for a very long time and never been hacked. Dunno whether to believe this or not.

I used to use them a LONG time ago, nothing ever happened to me.

Although it was likely before February 2011.

Anyone else had this happen though?
