If Sythe.org Shut Down...

Where would you go?

There's no doubt the website has a loyal following of lurkers and such. It would be these members that I feel the closing would affect the most, as most market-users have other, less active alternatives they're already using.

But if, say tomorrow, Sythe.org went offline permanently, what would you do? Where would you go? If you play RS, would you quit given the loss of a great black-market?

I ask, not because there's any foreseeable end to the forum that commands a following (at least to my knowledge), but because it's interesting to hear what other users do on the web for social interaction and other such purposes.

Personally, I would find myself at a rather large loss given that my general purpose on Sythe has always been conversation. I've yet to find another forum that I can genuinely engage with and understand, and believe me when I say I've looked.

So, go .

I would likely just keep in contact with everyone over IRC, MSN, and Facebook... in terms of a forum, I doubt I would go anywhere else. I honestly think I'd just skate and surf more, hang out with friends more, paint more. In a way it could actually be a positive shift for many of Sythe's member's lives.

 

I wouldn't care if it went down as I have better things in life to fulfill. Sythe is merely a forum where I can just cure my boredom

 

It would seriously suck because I like Sythe, but if it happens what can you do.

 

I don't think I'd be able to find a replacement for Sythe, it's just such a unique community. I'd probably still talk to a lot of my old friends through Facebook and such, but I would miss it.

 

Wouldn't change much. I don't have much time for Sythe nowadays so it would just be one less place bookmarked. It's fun to lurk sometimes though and if I need something I can always trade for it if I can't find it else where.

I doubt I'd start using another black market forum. I feel way to comfortable with where I am now on Sythe. During my ban I tried to use another popular cheating site, but I can honestly say it sucked having to start over from the very bottom. It was really uncomfortable not knowing anyone and having to get used to the way things were there.

If it shut down tomorrow.. I'd probably, as Alt said, try and remain in contact with everyone, keep IRC running for as long as possible too. The sad thing about it though would be like you said Deacon.. trying to find another place of conversation. Sythe.Org's off-topic and community is by far my favourite on any forum I've ever been on, combined. I dont think I could ever fit in as well anywhere else, I'd probably try to though.

Then again I'd probably just go hide on IRC networks for the rest of my internet days because they are the only things that seem to be safe from the corporate fucking the internet is getting these days.

Move to another black market I guess. Have enough known trust to start some where else I assume.

 

I'd be sad for a little while because of all the great conversation that goes on here, but then I would get over it and find somewhere else to go.

 

Keep in contact with the few members I have on MSN and Skype, and probably have more time for games.

 

I think that, major gold buyers and sellers would be out a job basically. Some people also have donated over 300$ which would be a waste if they did it recently. Personally i would probably sell my rs acc to like gold4fun or usfine and buy me some games i can play with my irl friends.

 

I'd be done with blackmarkets and RS completely, despite having quit RS for a while now.

I don't think it would be a waste if they donated it. Yes, the site wouldn't be up still, but I know people who donate, and hide the donation mark, because they don't really care. You donate to help Sythe, but yeah, I guess you would be upset to see you donated but it was still an inevitable end.

 

I would probably just do something else, ditch GFX and get more into gaming and such
Would be a major blow to me though. I have little to no life and Sythe is a major portion of what I do
Worst comes to worst, I might sink into a WoW-depression
