If reincarnation was true would you try your luck?

Say reincarnation is true, and you know for certain that it's true.



After you die, you are guaranteed to be a human in your next life, but other than that it is completely unpredictable: gender, race, country, family, sexual orientation, standard of living, etc. cannot be predicted.


Would you force yourself 'start over' right now?

 

I wouldn't ever want to return to this world - If I could be reincarnated within another galaxy, another world and complete different surroundings; then HELL YES!

No, there is a hideous chance you would be born into poverty.

 

Just because you're born into poverty does not decrease your chance of escaping it. When reading this you have to take into consideration that you're responsible for your own life.

 

Nah if I knew reincarnation was true I would just let each of my lives play out regardless of how shitty they are, knowing that my next life may be better.

 

Your life is what you make it, if it's shit it is due to you letting it be shit. I'd just play my life out rather than just trying my hand at the lottery.

Assuming that it is an infinite cycle, and you can/will be reincarnated again.. I'd be tempted. But given the ridiculously high percentage of the human population living in or close to poverty it's a high chance you would not get a better life than you currently have.. and you then have to follow that existence until you die or are old enough to make the conscious choice to take your own life and start again.

I lived a good life, and it's better to end it on a good note, then possibly go through hell in the next life.

That's kind of weird to imagination, if people KNEW that reincarnation was true there would be mass suicide EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
People would be trying to be born into a rich family etc.. It would be one hell of a different world I could tell you that for sure.

 

sad to say, but i think most of humans are selfless and savageable. there are only few actuall good people in this world, everything around us today in time is corrupt

Note that these amounts are before the cost of food, rent, healthcare, etc.

So those who'd go for random reincarnation basically have a 20% chance of living in extreme poverty, and an additional 25% chance of only living in very severe poverty.

Most people on this site are probably pretty fortunate, by comparison.

 

That's a really interesting question, I've never thought about it. I do believe that reincarnation is true in a sense; not necessarily as a human, but I do believe that you come back as some form of living creature. That's irrelevant, however.

If I knew reincarnation was true, I'm not sure if I would do it. I would like the idea of trying it out, but I think I'd be scared to actually do it. Plus, I wouldn't want to hurt everyone who loves me just to "try it out." It'd be tempting, but I don't think I'd actually do it. I think that if we all knew that we could be reincarnated, we'd all be living wondering if our "other life" would be better, and that'd make us miserable.

However, if you do get reincarnated as another human, couldn't you just continually end your life until you become someone you want to be? Theoretically, you could continue killing yourself until you fit the perfect version of yourself that you want.
