Between trusting you or trusting the most used Miner nowadays idk.
It's never worth to mine with your PCs GPU if you don't plan to sell it plus you pay for your electricity, which you might just be losing money and give these guys some of your mining power, making it even more retarded, like @Dev Zach kind of retarded.

Also, if it isn't OpenSource just don't download it.

Basically this guy is just some random guy who came here with a phishy ass idea that you can make RSGP (not even Bitcoin or Ethereum that are worth more/are traded more) by putting your GPU mine something that you don't even know what it's really mining while you have an executable running on your PC that could be used as a keylogger.

PhoenixMiner (which we include in our miner app) is actually the most used GPU mining software of 2021.

You can actually use 100% open-source software with Idle Gold. Download ethminer (GPL licensed) and check out the section titled "I've mined before and don't need the Idle Gold app" at Idle Gold - Mine Old School RS gold with your GPU. Our app makes mining with Idle Gold easy, but you don't have to use our app to use our mining pool.

Power costs are very small compared to Idle Gold's profit. For example, if you have a 160W GPU (like an RTX 2060) and pay $0.10/kWh, your total power cost is $0.38/day for 4M gp/day (OSRS gold). You certainly couldn't get close to those rates on any gold market.

Just checked the source code and for what it seems it's probably just a reskin of another miner.
So, once again, it's just super dumb to mine this instead of mining ETH and buying GP with it, this is totally a scam.

It's like "You can mine us some ETH and we will give you a bit of of RSGP" kind of thing.
    Check https://api.idle.gold/stats

I'm still trying to reverse engineer the miner itself

This is how this miner is built

There's an Electron APP (google it) that is the graphical component
Then there's a miner, "Phoenix Miner", and this makes sense because this guy says

"they launched a smear campaign against the world's most popular ethash miner, PhoenixMiner, to scare people into using their miner instead (which gives them more profit)... PhoenixMiner's BitcoinTalk thread which is an entertaining read if anyone's interested..." Also, odly enought, whatever this guy just said doesn't make sense in the type of thread this is, why would he make reference to this?

If you want to mine yourself, here's basically the Miner they downloaded just to make this scam PhoenixMiner 5.5c - AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner [2021]
And by the way, I wouldn't recommend that miner too.

This is like a bread of shit, where the bread is idle.gold and the shit is the shady miner inside it

Just checked your website and you say you use Phoenixminer, mb. But still all of this doesn't make sense
Like what, am I using my hash power just to have a nicer looking app instead of just a console miner? :D

Just because you can, doens't mean your app is opensourced, why would you have this program then if you could have ethminer? whats the point of Phoenix miner + the fact your APP isn't opensource?

Just because I can eat normal food, doens't mean you aren't giving me poison, right?

Kinda repeating myself here, but what's the point of having Phoenix Miner then, if you could just use ethminer?
    Can't you just run ehtminer?

This is a common question we get. We include PhoenixMiner in our app because it mines 2-10% faster than Ethminer in our tests, especially on GPUs from the last 2 years, so your gold profit is higher. Ethminer hasn't been updated in 2 years, but it's the best open-source ethash miner if you need to review the code before running.

    This doesn't explain anything.
How, someone with 0 reputation thinks it's a good idea to:
    • Provide a Close Source Mining Software
    • That mining software also includes a shady miner that is also Close Source, with many articles and talks about why you shouldn't use it
    • To basically have a "Mining Service" that you exchange HashRate for Gold, without explaining where the gold comes from or how the pool works or anything

Even if you didn't do anything with the Close Source Miner you have (lets hope) it's still just dumb for someone to use your Miner to exchange for Ethereum

If someone else is reading this, take a look at this super secret website https://letmegooglethat.com/q=how+to+mine+ethereum+pool

You will most probably be getting more money from ethereum than from "MINING" GP, not only because this guy isn't taking a percentage of it but also because Ethereum is going up, and you can exchange Ethereum Directly to BTC, or buy Gold with this, while gold is going down. Check GoldScrap - Stats, (Disclaimer, this site is mine but you can see a graph of the price going down), so even if this guy is taking 0% of what you could actually make to just sell you gold for ethereum, whatever you make from this is going to be less valuable in a few months (Check ethereum Graph Ethereum (ETH) valor, cotação, gráfico e preço hoje | CoinGecko)

Like, what's even the point of this @IdleGold, if you don't take a percentage from what people are mining? And if you take a percentage, why should people be using this shady program instead of just using an Well-know, Open Source miner to mine the normal way and sell the profits?

Of course, no replies after 5 days AHAHA
I wonder if you are changing your site or something @IdleGold
Too bad my replies aren't in the front page of this thread, but this smells like a scam.

We've recently updated the Idle Gold app to 1.5.0.
    Release notes:
    • Added “Start at boot” to settings
    • Added public ID to settings
    • Added miner hash rate and GPU power consumption measurements to settings when miner is running
    • Log miner output to miner-log.txt
We also now have nearly-24 hr payout staff. Most payout requests will be handled within 10 minutes. There is a small chance you will need to wait a couple of hours if none of our staff is available, but if this happens, keep your payout chat browser window open and we will arrange a trade as soon as possible.

so it probably wont mean much being I have just made my account but I made it after trying this out and it works

tried a payout at around 3.8M and sure enough it was delivered pretty quickly

im using a gtx 1060 6GB software reports my rates as

    147.8 k/hr
    3.547 M/day
    106.4 M/month

not too shabby id imagine the 4.25 M/Day on the site would be if i were to overclock, Still a great speed and it does pay out

    Thanks :)

I'm pretty sure that you are not even making back the cost of your electricity at these rates, also not including the insane drain on the lifespan of you GPU.

Would 100% not recommend this to anyone!
I'm pretty sure you can make money doing 1 hour of surveys then having your PC run 24h's for 1-3m osrs per day haha
