OMM Activity Logs

Earlier today I was sifting through the current OMM list, and upon some minor investigation, noticed that a number of them were quite inactive.

My suggestion is to have OMM's log, record, document, and submit a set number of trades per month, much like activity logs for current moderators.

Per my understanding, the reason why OMM's even exist is so the Sythe marketplace will be a more safe & secure place to trade. Having inactive OMM's that don't even monitor trades on a monthly basis defeats the purpose of them holding the OMM rank. what is the point of an Official Middleman if they haven't Middlemanned in months?

Requiring OMM logs would also throw off current/future applicants who are looking to obtain the rank simply for the power, influence, and jurisdiction. Much like keeping a staff rank, I believe OMM's should continue to prove their dedication to the rank by using their power & trustworthiness to continue making the marketplace a more safe and sound place. They shouldn't be in it for personal gain via fee's, but rather so they can offer their assistance and do what they can to make the marketplace a safer place.

 

Support. There are a handful of inactive OMMs.

 

Support, OMMs like Pen and such should be removed for inactivity.

OMM is a prestigious rank, and once a user has worked hard (hopefully) they earn the status of being an OMM, which basically means you put yourself through a lot of shit, but now are labeled as one of the most trusted users on sythe.

What you have basically proposed, is get rid of old MMs, who worked their ass off in a time where OMMs came seldom, because of the rigorous application process, and fill them up with newer members, who didn't have to work as hard, and are there because some people who were very trusted decided not to MM?

When did I say get rid of old MM's to fill them up with newer members? I simply suggested that the current OMM's be required to fill out activity logs, as the rank & position of OMM should be ongoing, as opposed to a once in a lifetime occurrence.

Also, Greg, I believe that he was trying to say that he doesn't want to remove their rank, but keep an activity tally of the OMMs. They HAVE worked hard, and they are not any less trustworthy because they've found other things to do with their time, but it would be nice to have a list that told you who was online or at the very least, recently active.

 

Guys jesus fuck, if you want to use an active MM, go to the OMM forum, and look for an OMM who bumped his thread recently, trust me there is no shortage of them....

 

EDIT: Actually, I don't support this. Just go to the forum to see their activity. Don't remove their rank just because they aren't as active. It does not reduce their credibility.

 

No support at all, for the reason that Greg has said. Old OMM's had to go through waaaay more work then the up and coming OMM's, and since they haven't been able to be as active as one may like, they get all there hard work taken away from them? No. Bullshit. What is wrong with having them there? Who is it hurting? Is it better to have more referees in a game, or less? The more the merrier, bring em on.
