Misleading titles

You're looking to buy 07 gold, so you check the Buy Oldschool Gold section.
Your eye falls on a post with the title 'Best Rates' and you instantly click on it.
The thread reads: Today's rate: 'go ask our livechat'.
Annoyed that the info isn't displayed you go to the livechat to find out the rates are not even close to being average and you just wasted 5 minutes.

You shouldn't be able to promote 'best rates' in your title if you're not updating your rates in your thread and keep up to date with prices.

 

This is something that can be sorted by reporting a post and moderator's can deal with it in accordance to the false advertising rule.

 

Would be a pain to regulate such a thing. No one has the "best rates" if there is someone willing to sell for less than what's considered to be best.

 

Sadly I see this happening. Sythe is becoming more strict on false advertisement, bumping when you need stock, etc. This is near impossible for businesses to even follow half the time with bump bots and fluctuating prices from hour to hour due to changing stock. I think it's nitpicky and meticulous. Every business in the real world makes these claims that can't really be quantified or confirmed. It's an advertising tactic. If you don't like it, take some time to learn marketing. If you still don't like it, just go directly to their website/skype for a quote since that's where you will do business anyways.

Also @ZLKR just open up half a dozen tabs of trusted websites that you like and ask simultaneously. I do this very often, it takes usually 3 mins to find the best price among your preferred buyers.

If you went to a shopping centre to buy a new product

You'd likely spend a few minutes in each store comparing prices

It makes perfect sense to open a few tabs and shop around before parting with your cash

 

Not to mention most sites are willing to beat other sites at a cheaper price when they say "cheapest prices" I either have the true Skype or just go to multiple sites it's so easy.

 

If you see a misrepresented or false advertised price on a thread, feel free to report it and a moderator will take a look at it.
