very disappointed at report a scammer forums

so you turn away an actual scammer and let him carry on with sythe eh? my topic had paypal pics his forum link where he tried to scam someone else AS WELL as me its so flaming obvious hes a scammer there also something on another post that he set up which is selling lv108+8 + 88m which someone baught and there was 1m on the account he wouldnt verify in game
wow mods you really have to step it up these forums used to be safe now i dont see the point in even using them because the mods are soft on scammers!
idc if i get banned for this im voicing my opinion ive lost over $200 because of scammers and you dont seem to do anything about it everytime i posted nothing happens to them or they get banned after 4 other people post scam posts

 

If we accepted a picture of a payment as enough proof to ban someone, everyone in this forum would be banned. I probably should have been more clear, but I was clearing out a lot of reports and sort of just gave you quick answer. Sorry about that.

 

These forums are much safer these days then they used to be. Most of the members used to be scammers but now they have changed, since RS changed as well.

The mods do a fair job in my opinion, they always ask eachother is their decision if correct and they ask for others opinion too. Next time try be more careful, because if you get scamed the mods wont be able to bring your money back even if they ban the person.

 

In the end, there really is no point. They will continue to scam, regardless of whether they get banned or not.

I have not seen your report, but the staff does not turn away strong evidence. And it's basically your fault for getting scammed, not ours.

 

If you actually put sufficient proof then they would be banned. You posted two pictures of paypal. You also said the following -

yeh well thanks it wasnt just a paypal picture btw i had evidence on that same thread that he had someone else that he tried scamming there is also ANOTHER post about the kid selling the account which he actually scammed but i only just recently found out about that

I can understand your frustration, but without any proper evidence I cannot ban him, sorry.

 

I think we need a RaS Sectional mod [skele], it gets really backed up with pages and pages of reports

 

Skele is already a global. You want to demote him back to sectional?

OT: If there is no proper proof, how can you expect Skele to ban him?

 

Consider the legal system of your country, assuming it's not a shithole.


If someone accuses ANYONE of murder without proof, how are you to jail him? Then anyone has the power to jail anyone and then it'd be a deeeeep horrid mess of a community.

 

He already has perms to RaS ( Global Mod ), so it'd be pointless to do that.

 

I understand that mods are busy and whatever.. And I'm not criticising them because they do a lot of work in their free time..

But it took 7 months for one of my scammer reports to be looked at.. Perhaps the RaS section is understaffed..

 

just a question I want to ask..
why don't you guys accept chat logs, I mean whats the point of it except it just let alot of scammers go because ppl don't know that they need an actual pictures of the conversation so they close it and when they report with chat logs it gets denied and so on, scammers scams noobs who is new to here and for sure they don't know whats required when they report a scammer...so please just tell me whats the point of not accepting these chat logs.

 

If you would've read the stickies in that section, they would explain exactly why they are not allowed. Chat logs can easily be edited (pretty much right click --> edit) and thus would be impractical to use as proof to ban someone.

I would suggest that you guys also get stikies about that in all the forums because like I get alot of people adding me asking for help on how to report scammers and stuff, if these stuff is there as stikies in each forum, it will be quicker and easier way for anyone to see and thats just a suggestion.

The mods do a great job, they are human. They can only do so much. Maybe you should start watching who you do trades with. Don't go raging at mods because you got scammed.

 

Do you accept chat history? For example if you still have the person added, you can click chat history up top then it takes you to this.

If not, then are u able to make a video of this chat history and use it as evidence? You cant edit this information from what i've tried. And its straight out of the MsN chat window. I can even upload a video to show how it works, if u'd like.
