    WoW PvM questions

Nothing like it. Runescape's PVM is such a primitive thing in comparison (camp in one spot, kill boss, hope for loot, repeat). In WoW you join groups of 10 or 25 people, usually as part of a guild (guild = clan, same thing) and go to raid dungeons. These are usually areas with several bosses, and you basically go through them with your 'raid' and combine strategies and all the different player classes you have to effectively kill the boss. Unlike runescape, if you die, you just get respawned to a nearby graveyard and have to run back to the dungeon (where your corpse is) as a ghost. You don't lose anything when you die.

WoW is a game that rewards careful preparation, and synchronisation of EVERY raid member with a specific strategy to down a boss. Runescape in contrast rewards people for spending months of their life getting 90+ skills to solo or duo one boss over and over until they get a "rare" drop.

The boss drops 2-5 pieces of loot (depending on the raid size, either 10 or 25 man) which are epic quality and these are then rolled for by raid members that want them. Some guilds use different methods of handing out loot, but generally, everyone gets a fair chance at gearing up from these drops.

Oh and a big difference is, people don't kill bosses to make money. People kill bosses to get gear or rare items for their own use. You can get tradeable epics, which are sold on an auction house, but generally, guilds give them to members who will actually equip them (and thereby rendering them un-tradeable)

Hope this answered your question ;)
