I want to start lifting weights BUT...

I've been doing cardio for months and months, lost over 50 lbs, getting close to having ab definition. I am looking to start lifting weights. I will be taking supplements like Whey protien, and creatine. I have 2 weeks before I go on vacation, While im on vacation I wont have access to weights. Should I start lifting now for 2 weeks, then take my week vacation? or continue jogging and stuff, and lift after I get back from vacation... ?

There's no reason not to. If you have access to it, go for it. Just make sure you're doing it right.

This isn't exactly the most physically experienced forum to ask, try bodybuilding/exercise forums if you want the most sound advice.

    What's your current BMI?

If you want to gain muscle, which will also make your weight increase, you should start now. Please notice the weight is muscle only.

Yes it would be beneficial to start lifting before your vacation. Lift hard for 2 weeks and consider the vacation a longer rest period to let your muscles recover (and grow.)

I wouldn't hold back now, I'd say go for lifting weights before you go as 2 weeks is a decent amount of time for your body to get used to the work out.

DOn't take creatine if your going on holiday. Your really meant to keep away from alcohol and drink ALOT of water when your on a creatine cycle. On the other hand nothing is stopping you from doing a few weeks of resistance workouts while supplementing whey protein, make sure your consistent but don't expect any noticeable changes to your physique with only 2 weeks worth of work.

You should lift before your vacation, and then do the following exercises during your vacation.

Push ups, you can vary your push ups to wide grip to close in. This works numerous parts of your body with the variety of push ups ranging from chest to triceps.

Sit ups, these are very good for toning, and you could even improvise with a weight to make it similar to gym circumstances.

Crunches are also nice to add.

Hand stand push ups, If you can find time, find space and can do them then they are probably one of the best exercises you can do. Just be sure to not let the blood rush to your head too long, or fall over.

    Jesus Christ.

This is why you should head over to www.boybuilding.com/forum and talk to people who actually know what they are talking about. When it comes to lifting and nutrition don't ever take one word or source, read around and get all the information you can.

Goodluck with lifting, if you do it right your first few months you will make lots of gains, good times

Don't listen to this guy. If you take creatine correctly and drink lots of water it doesn't hurt you at all.

Take Protein and supplements for sure, I would recommend you going to a supplying store as it always depends on your, weight, height, how much you work out etc. Here is a site with some products but i would go into a store as they will fit you with the right supplements etc: http://www.vitamart.ca/

2 weeks of lifting can give you a little arm definition so I think you should give it a go, I'm not sure about the supplements though you should check with a bodybuilding forum for that
