why dont games use cheats anymore?

why dont most video games use cheats anymore? the only game i know of which does, is grand theft auto.

 

Well, i'm not sure if flat out CHEATS should even be put into the game, but like shortcuts, and extras are good usually. Or they could be activated after you've beaten the game.

My guess is that because most games are online nowadays, and you can't really use cheats online.

 

Cheating is never fun. It gets very boring if you haven't accomplished the desired thing yourself.

 

The only fun in cheating is when you have cheats for GTA.

Anything other then that is terrible.

 

Games are much easier now-a-days. Back in the 8/16-bit era, most games were extremely hard simply because there was not enough space on the cartridge for a long and easy-going game. More towards the game-boy through PS1 era, the games kept the difficulty, but were able to extend longer, thus developers included cheats into the game to even it out.

 

GTA has heaps of cheats like you said, Like wise with thousands more.

Cheats are cheats, they don't have new games every year. They stay called cheats.

Yes, but some people may not have access to a computer at the time, or a computer, therefore some people would have the upper hand.

 

Cheating defeats the purpose of the game...Too bad they don't make them for RuneScape

 

Yea to megamatt, he's right. Most of the games being made have online now. Cheating would fuck online game play up to be fucked up.

It makes the company who made the game less money, because more people aren't interested in the game.

 

If you'r playing online you need a computer. Hate to tell you this but somebody needed to.
