Just use Ebay. At lest then you'd be entitled to some form of seller protection.

Use Ebay. I'm sure the loss of $100 is worth the transaction as a whole going smoothly.

 

$100 what? Last time I sold something on Ebay the fees were $2 or something.

 

How much are you selling it for? If it's $101, don't use eBay. If it's $1k, of course, use eBay.

 

Do NOT deal with him if he has no feedback on ebay etc etc.

I used to sell many of ps3/xbox360 games on ebay (brand new and sealed)
And the amount of buyers with no feedback/shit feedback who tried to purchased from me was unreal! Some slipped through and purchased and most of them "claimed" they never received the items.

I even sent them tracked and the fuckers claimed it wasn't them because they put a x on the signature box.

Now ever since I lost 100's because of that I only sell high expense items to trusted buyers with good feedback.

If you was to do this out of ebay I suggest checking his rep on ebay and also using a secure method like bank transfer or WU or mail, Any method that cannot be charged back like paypal. And also you pay for an item before you receive it.

 

Can I just say, you do realise that if he gives you a cheque that bounces or doesn't clear, you just report him to the police as that's classed as fraud and it's a serious offence, he'd be looking at jailtime if it's the same in the US as it is in England.

 

The fees are going to be near $100 as I'm selling the item for $800. I'm going to do it through ebay now, and try to use WU.

Also is it not possible for him to collect / you deliver? Also what about his ebay rep?

 

Don't sell something outside of ebay, and the fee of $100 is worth it but make sure you got proof too

Use C.O.D. Like Jack said, if he does scam you, you will have his address and can report him to the police.

Once you've received the cash from WU, and have it in your hands, no.

However, once he has sent the WU funds, there are rare occurrences where by the sender calls WU and requests the payment to be stopped due to them sending the funds to the wrong individual. This is rare, and in most cases doesn't happen.

You could either have $700 guaranteed, or, from what I've seen:

$400 maybe from WU
Possible fake check
Definite anxiety
