I think this goes here... C&C plz!

I'm not sure where else to put this.

Anywyay... I am going to write a short book, maybe about 50 pages, and I felt like getting your opinions on the first chapter. I sat down and promptly wrote this two days ago, and I am currently on Chapter Four, but let me know what you think about the first chapter. It's really short, but it's more of a lengthened introduction than anything. I am not going to release the Title yet. Here it is. C&C!

Introduction


Before you get any ideas, don’t be expecting something exciting. Now that I think of it, don’t expect anything interesting or exceptionally written, for that matter. This book is basically me ranting about things that tick me off, making fun of stupid things, etc, etc. So, before I get into [it], I thought I’d give you fair warning. But don’t get used to it. The world isn’t fair; I’m just in a half-decent mood. So don’t go around expecting someone to tell you that you’re about to fall into the open manhole that you don’t see because you’re too busy looking over your shoulder at the Asian businessmen that have been seemingly following you for the last 9 blocks. Because it’s not going to happen.






Chapter One


Hm… Now, I had this crazy delusion that I was going to write a book today. I woke up, got a lecture from my dad, which I am very much used to now, and did a bunch of boring school-related things. On a Saturday. A Saturday. Why on Earth would a teacher give homework to a teenager over the weekend? It makes him, or her, miserable. Unfortunately for every child around the world that has ever received a weekend homework assignment; they know that the teacher assigning it has no remorse or sympathy for the poor kid. However, they could show some empathy, as I’m sure that they have had homework on a Saturday before, as well. But they don’t regret it in the slightest, or show that they care at all. In fact, from what I’ve observed, it gives them some kind of pleasure to see an innocent student’s weekend hours of enjoyment shot. A twisted, incomprehendable, sadistic pleasure.

But like I was saying… After the torture of being badgered by my male parental figure, whom I have dubbed “Atticus Finch”, from the enthralling novel To Kill A Mocking Bird, I sat down and watched TV. Boring. I ate breakfast. Boring. Then finally mastered playing the song “Reptillia” by The Strokes on my drum kit. And finally, it hit me. I was going to write a book!

Wrong. Well, actually, that’s not true. I was correct, to a certain extent. My insane idea was that I was going to write a great, heart-warming novel that would change the way people looked at… well, everything. But then I realized I’m not talented enough to accomplish such a task. I’m a 13 year old who plays Runescape, watches South Park, and hangs out with the strangest of strange people. No really. They’re very odd. No. REALLY. But I have come to the conclusion that I couldn’t possibly do such a thing, so I decided to sit down and just write. Write whatever came to my mind. Just let it flow from my fingertips like water from a faucet. And so far, it’s been working out pretty well. Except no-one will be reading this far into the story, seeing as they will just be extremely bored with the book. There is no real topic, the writing is bland and very mediocre, in my humble opinion, and I haven’t written a single interesting or funny thing yet. What a tragedy.

However, we CAN fix that. I just need something amazing to write about. Well, maybe I should think for awhile and get back to writing. My inspiration to write wasn’t very helpful on what specifically to write about . Did I tell you all about my inspiration anyway? Well, too bad. You’re not gonna get to hear about that until chapter two. Fortunately for you, Chapter One is almost finished. I will return later to right more. Wait a second, isn’t this kind of like a play-by-play present-time auto-biography? All I am really doing is telling you what happened today, what I am doing, and what I am going to do. That’s pretty stupid. Makes you think, doesn’t it? Actually, no, it doesn’t. Not at all.

I hate HW on the weekends and South Park is awesome. Still it just dragged you on and on and on. you should stop writing so much details and get to the point. GL with the rest.

 

Lool I read all of it. It was good. I like your exaggeration, irony and metaphors.

When you right more make sure you continue to write as you did in this piece, make sure it's a topic that you have a strong opinion with.

 

It seems more like a biography instead of a novel. And it's not very exciting. You drag it on a lot.

 

The point is to drag it on and on and on. It's a very different style of writing, but thank for all your opinions. I am continuing to write whenever I can, I might put up some more later.
