Questions for those who live on their own & go to college

I have some questions for those who are living away from home and are going to college (so no full time job).

Right now I can't decide living in one of these house deals (cheaper than a 2-3 person apartment, but there are usually 5 or more people living there), or a 2-3 person apartment.

If I get an apartment it will probably be $100 more a month, and I will most likely need to pay a month for a bus/subway pass depending on the location.

Has anyone had to make a choice like this before? I'm worried with one of those house deals, it will feel like a frat house (even though the renter specifies rules).

    Opinions?

i work away with my job a lot, i tend to try to keep it cheap and cheerful. Just even it out between them, add up the +'s and -'s, and see which you'd prefer.

For instance a 6 bed house, some people could be working nights and keeping you up, always the potential for new people coming and they could be cunts, shit could go missing etc.. you buy some bread/toilet roll next morning it's gone.

then a 2-3 bed apartment, may cost you more. but atleast there are less people there to piss you off.
