Oral presentation help.

Monday I have to read off a paper in front of my class. It's really weird, I'm usually very scared to present stuff, my heart starts racing, hands sweat and I start to shake and turn red and hot. It's basically hell.
The odd part is that I can present in front of 2 of my other classes fine. Like math and science, because everybody is in my grade and I know or am friends with lots of them. I'm also really loud and talk a lot in those classes.
But in history even though I know a lot of them, I start totally freaking out every time we have to present, it probably has to do with the fact that I'm very quiet in this class
I'm not even presenting I just have to read off a paper while everybody writes some notes down on the subject I wrote about. (history)
So some tips on how to get over this nauseating feeling I get whenever I think about it.

Change your mindset. They aren't laughing at you. Deep breaths, just think you are reading something to a few friends.

 

They arent laughing at you, thats just in your mind, stay focused.

 

know what, it also happens with me while reciting a poem in front of skool or class,

but the main key i look forward to is:

NEVER LOOK IN EYE....
IF U LOOK INTO EYES OF PPL LAUGHING @ YOU......U TEND TO LOOSE CONCENTRATION AND THE THING GETS MESSED UP.......

Well, I'm in college and have to present a lot of shit. Just remember, everyone in the room cares about what you're talking about, and is interested.

 

Ah! That happened to me in my Freshman year, we had a powerpoint in my CAD class on a dream house. It was with a bunch of seniors that I didn't know at the time, and some Juniors, Sophomores, and 2 Freshman. I got really scared, so I just closed my eyes, took deep breaths and did it. I forgot everyone was there - and I just pretended I was presenting it to the teacher only. If you have to look at everyone in your class, just think it's your family or close friends and you're presenting a piece of work that you love.

 

Look straight ahead at the back wall, pretend their not there, I used to be shit scared of these a few years back, I refused to go to school, missed lessons eg;.

One day my teacher rang my parents up and my parents said "you don't have to do it anymore, go into school". So I did and turns out they tricked me and had to do it, I went up there my knees were shaking and everything, but I started my speech, I did stop for a second several times, but every time I did I looked at my friends in the class and they smiled and nodded their heads to encourage me on. I finished it and sat down, I had worried about a 2 minute speech for 2 weeks and now I think what was I worried about?

No one is laughing at you, and if they do then just ignore them and carry on, you can laugh at them when they get up there.

Everyone is worried, but the only way to overcome it is the face up to it!

Your fine man, everyone gets nervous when making presentations. I do myself sometimes. If people start laughing it tends to make me laugh so it makes it go away for abit
