Am i being weird

So, im a muslim and gambling is against my religion.I want to stake on rs but isnt that like gambling?

i just wanna hear you guys opinions.

 

Well, drinking alcohol, smoking, having a girlfriend, and several other things are against Islam but I still see them as fairly common occurrences among the members of the faith. I can't say too much, as I am an atheist and my beliefs are probably a bit biased, but I can say that if you do decide to gamble, you won't be alone in your blasphemy

 

You're not 'being weird'. It's all up to you. Do whatever you feel like as it's just a game..

I understand that your religion is very important to you. My mother is the same way. She is not supposed to ingest caffiene or alcohol, and so sometimes she is weary of simple things like taking a sip out of a popcan because it contains caffeine. We all tease her about it, but her religion is very important to her and she wants to honour and obey alot of their rules.

Although staking could technically be called "gambling", I wouldn't worry about having some fun and staking on RS. You would not be doing anything wrong Gambling is slightly different in my eyes, whereas staking is almost like a game that requires some skill, and not just purely based on luck.

In the end, it is your decision, but don't be too bent out of shape about it! It is just a game, and there is nothing wrong with staking, even if you are a Muslim.

 

Well it's not actual real money, so I don't think it's gambling.

 

It depends if you define runescape gold as a currency, or if it is something of material value to yourself.

If it falls into either of the above categories then technically, you would be gambling.

 

I am a muslim myself. Let me tell you: RuneScape is a virtual game!

you are not loosing or winning real money. (unless you are planing to sell the gold)

 

I don't think it's the fact of winning/losing money, instead its the fact of 'gambling', putting something at stake (incidental cliche) at your own will.

OT: If staking constitutes as 'gambling' (which I personally think it does), then other features of RuneScape including merchanting and PK'ing would also constitute as gambling.

Any mini-games (E.G. Castle wars, you gamble on your team to win Castle wars tickets) would also constitute as gambling.

I'm thinking RuneScape might not be such a suitable game for you..

 

This is all up for interpretation. Your religion defines your CULTURE, but you define yourself.

No matter what anybody says and no matter what religion says, if your morals say it's gambling, then it's gambling. What people here say are all opinions of their thought process. Ultimately, it is you that defines you, not what other people say.
