I need some assistance..

Well, ok here's the story. I met this girl through my little brother. He's 17, im 21... this girl is 19, well, we started dating about 7 months ago.. Things were going great, she told me she loved me, of course, I did too, i was just scared to tell her. Then a few days ago, she calls me wanting to come to the house to talk, and I let her. Then she tells me, that she can't date, cause she's not ready to date anyone seriously like we were heading too. Does this mean that when she told me she loved me, that she wasn't serious, or is she scared? I talked to my dad about it, and he said if you love someone, let them go.. should I go with that, or try to work things out with her..

Eh, sounds like something else is going on in here life. If you've been dating for 7 months, had a great relationship etc. I don't see why she'd end it because she doesn't like where it's going.
Heading into a more serious relationship, by this; I assume you mean sexual relationship? Is she a virgin? She may not want to head that way and keep it strictly old fashion boy like girl. If so, ask her. "I don't want to talk about it" really isn't a good thing for her to say.

From my opinion: Something else is going on as I firstly stated. (Ex: Dad says you can't date him etc.)

If it turns out to be a true relationship, possibly get married and so on.
