I mostly listen to Japanese songs, so I'll be only referring Japanese bands to you. Try looking up for:
One OK Rock, Scandal, SID, Dir En Grey, The Nightmare, Back-on, Gackt, On/Off, UVERworld.

 

pantera is one of the greatest bands to come out of the dallas scene (along with zz top on your list). More dallas/surrounding music:

- this dude used to live a a couple of towns away from me.

- these guys were from oklahoma but huge on the radio here from the mid 90s to early 2000s. Also, the drummer you hear is now the long-standing and current drummer for Seether.

- Not completely new, but they're only now getting real air play (here anyway) I'm kind of digging this band lately.

- I don't know what you prefer, I just always love live shit. Just pull up the studio versions if you'd rather though

Not related to dallas:

- I'm not completely into this band, but I really think this is a clever and damn fine song.

- when you said puddle of mudd this is what I thought of

- classic song, and extremely under-rated band.

- speaking of under-rated, here's a band that is usually thrown in the same pile as nickleback/creed, and to anyone who agreed, a big fuck you because this band absolutely rocks, this is the same band that sings "shine" (I guarantee you've heard it before, look it up)

Slipknot - mudvayne, korn, maybe five finger death punch? I don't care for a lot of industrial music anymore tbh.
Tool - Well if you like tool, I would recommend listening to every album by them (Because they're masterpieces), then go to A perfect Circle, then try out some green jello after that. I think you'd also love the deftones if you haven't heard them, always loved "change" (White pony is a great album)
P.O.D. - shinedown is like the new pod
ZZ Top - Steve miller band, joe walsh, BOC, I'm sure you know most of the good classic rock.
Ac/dc - I have never been a huge fan of this band, I know I should probably die because of that. I know every song pretty much but there is just something about those voices that never sat right with me
Audioslave - Any bands that any member of this band have been affiliated with are worth listening too.
Silverchair - Love this band, fun fact: "Tomorrow" was recorded and released when the lead singer was only 14 years old.
