Good, LEGAL program to convert video to creative zen?

I bought a creative zen mx yesterday and it should arrive by Tuesday. I heard that the software that comes with it is really slow when converting pictures and video files to play on the creative zen.

If anyone knows of a good, free program to convert videos and pictures to play on the creative zen mx than pleass post here or PM me.
