ID doesnt help with chargebacks ?!

Hey guys,

Just had a chat with PayPal about an unauthorised chargeback. Payment was sent as gift. PayPal claims that having someone's ID (+ forwarded reciept) doesnt help in any way to show that the payment was authorised. They keep going on about the possibility of a credit card being stolen.

How can we (sellers) ever show PayPal that a transaction is authorised, if having someones ID is not even enough (+ forwarded reciept)?

Hope u guys can share some experiances.

by allowing him to send the payment as a gift you basically forfeited your rights for paypal protection, and now that their is a fraud claim you automatically lose.

 

Thats correct, but even if u recieve a payment as goods and services having someone's ID wouldnt help (is what they told me). How can u ever show PP that the payment was authorised?

 

I think the reason they are telling you the ID does not matter in this case is because your not eligible for paypal protection due to it being gifted.

But anyway the question your asking is how does one completely rid paypal chargebacks, the answer is you cannot you have to simply absorb it.

 

thanks for sharing some light on this subject. I still wonder why people ask for ID's tho with PP claiming it wouldnt help with being gifted or sent as goods and services.

Paypal is complete shit. Anybody can win any type of dispute on any given day.
