Western Union as an under 18 year old in the UK

I am 17 years old and my mum refuses to use western union as what she thinks i'm doing online (selling runescape gold) is illegal.

My question is, do I need to have ID if I am using a secret question and answer? Can the sender set the answer to that question online or do they have to do it in store?

also, on the recieving money form, do i put my actual date of birth or do i set it 1 year back? any answers are helpful.

 

I actually need an answer on this question too, I'm newly 17 and put the year back 1 year on my paypal and I've linked my card and everything to it and I've had no problems, but I'm looking to open an WU.

 

You have to have some sort of photo ID verifying you are the person the sender is giving money to.

 

I have been told that this is not required so long as I have a security question to answer which the buyer sets?

 

My paypal reached it's limit of £1900 and to lift it i have to upload valid ID

 

You have to have an ID regardless of the security question. School ID, Library card, something. They have to confirm a photo ID with the person picking up for confirmation so people don't try to scam them and claim more money.

 

what is the likelihood that they will check the date of birth?

do i put the same date of birth on the sheet that is on my driving licence card, or 1 year back?

Kinda sucks cause I'm not 18 for another 11 months, I've got a verified debit card on there though.

 

Just a tip with PayPal, as soon as you add a bank they will close te account, or if you add a bank when you turn 18 they will also close the account as they assume you were underage when you opened the account. Happened to me, it sucks.
