I agree with the thesis.. if the the new combat system come out, most of the people who actually like playing going to quite. Why the heck man, how did they come to this combat system, its garbage..

 

Find a new game. The evolution of combat is coming regardless of what anyone says/thinks

 

people said the same about taking out the wilderness.. but they continued to play. after the release of wilderness mini-games like bounty hunter, clan wars, so on.. people settled down but as you can see.. they obviously brought back the wilderness due to a very big hit they took on their income from members. A lot of people quit and have not returned to this day. So they finally left it to the community to bring back the old wilderness, and it was a bit one sided.. but i don't think it will be the case for this update.

They won't stop the update because they believe they can force people to adapt to their game play. they have many games to compete with, Diablo 3, WoW.. so they try to change the game bit by bit and this big update i agree won't do anything but stir people away but.. no reason making a huge deal out of it.. they are going to do it no matter what..

Agreed. If they want to release the evolution of combat they should make it on Runescape 3, and give us the ability to play rs2 with the old graphics, old music, no overpowered shit, no ge, no bullshit. I have been a Runescape player since 05, since I was 10 years old, and I know it will be sad, but if combat evolution goes one, i'm quitting. I just can't understand it, and I waste time doing it. RIP Runescape. 2001-2012

I've never really thought about it like that. I think it would be really cool if they released the combat rework in sections instead of one massive update that is going to fuck us all over. I'm less then thrilled considering it is going to mess up my bots for a while(Yes Jagex I'm aware you don't give a flying fuck) and I know for a fact that it is going to take days to adapt to this update..let alone be good at pvm/pvp :/

 

I miss the old Runescape, somewhere in 2007-2008. Thinking about it brings make such memories.

 

This. Jagex is a company, they aren't going to please the whim of a few players. I don't play anymore, haven't for years so dont really know anything of it; but it seems to me runescape died during 2006-07.
