WTF is up with my skin?

I've noticed this after a few weeks of shaving that whenever I shave, there are no hairs left but shaving leaves my skin a greyish colour and from a far or up close it looks like I still have hair and haven't shaved at all. This happens with using shaving foam and without. I use an electric razor (powered by a battery) with 5 blades. I have sensitive skin by the way.

Try it with a normal razor, and use shaving foam. It may be an irritation of the skin.

Also, if you have sensitive skin, it could be that the pores are being ripped open.

What razor do you suggest? Normal as in disposable or something else and how many blades? Also, what shaving foams because after using shaving foams my skin goes a bit red. I use an exfoliating face scrub before I shave which helps but not as much as I want it to.

Hmm, I'll keep looking did you try the things suggested on that link?
Edit; Another website suggests you maybe not be getting a close enough shave. I'd try a few different razor types/brands.

Yeah, non-electric, such as a Gilette. Hmm, odd about the shaving foams though - could it be that your skin reacts to something in the shaving foam?

WTF is up with my skin?

I've got out and bought a new razor (non-electric) its gives me such a comfortable shave but its helped me notice that the dark roots have been causing most of the darkness. A lemon solution can get rid of the rest. Any suggestions on the roots?

You could possibly try an after-shave cream/gel/lotion if your skin is sensitive, it would be smart for when you're done shaving.

Also, for roots on facial hair, really all you can do is wax which might be painful.
Nair for Men might be option but i'm not sure if it's for facial use.

I wouldn't worry about the roots, it's natural, that's how facial hair regrows at a certain rate. If you resulted to waxing that gets rid of the roots for probably a couple months and then it will start to grow back normally.

From the description it just sounds like you're experiencing regrowth. Or not a close enough shave. I shave my head and it gets the same way. You can never really make it look like there was never any hair there unless you get it laser removed or waxed or something. It'll still have a grayish tint from the parts that are beneath the skin. Also, some people just have bad complexions. There really isn't much you can do about it if that's the case.

For the best results though I'd suggest using a manual razor (electric razors = fail). I use the fusion pro glide on my head and it works wonders. Get the one that vibrates if you can, it helps make the hair stand up and easier to get all of it. The blades are expensive as fuck (like $5 ea) but totally worth it.. you'll get a much better shave :) gl

Gillette Fusion Proglide Power is where it's at. I had an "after-beard" when I used an electric razor too. This one is electric, but it's just a regular 5 blade razor that vibrates.

Also, try shaving with the grain first, then going back and shaving against the grain to get everything and make your skin smooth.

EDIT:: just noticed shockwave suggested the same razor I use. It's a really good razor and worth spending 20$ for a pack of blades. Best shave I've ever had next to a straight razor at the barbershop.

Do you grow thick hair on your face? If so its probably because you can still see small hairs
