How to use the Sythe Unofficial IRC​

*Note that this is a guide for the webclient.
Also, make sure you follow what the title at the top of the screen says at all times.

First and foremost, you need to go to http://striked.org, then you should type in the following: (Make sure your nickname is somewhat related to your sythe username.)


Next I recommend registering your account on striked. To do that, enter the below command:
/ns register (password) (email)

Once you enter the command , the following should appear and you should get an email. From there, striked will give you an activation command.


From there you are set, just hang out and chat with some of the other users on sythe.

Other Useful commands​

If you ever see someone impostering you or using your nickname: /ns ghost (User) (password)
To show an action that you are performing: /me (what are you doing)
To send a private message or query: /query Nickname
To sign on/become recognized: /ns identify (password) - Only works on YOUR account.
To quit the server: /quit (reason)
To protect your account: /ns set kill on or /ns set kill quick - (note that quick is 20s and on is 60s)

To make a channel of your own: /join #(channel name wanted)
-To make some one an operator in your channel: /mode #(channel name) +o (nickname)
-To remove the operator: /mode #(channel name) -o (nickname)
-To invite someone: /invite (nickname) #(channel name)
-To ban someone: /mode #(channel name) +b (nickname)
-To kick someone: /kick #(channel name) (nickname)
-To change the topic /topic #(channel name) (topic wanted)

Honestly, I'm disappointed. I was expecting a guide on how to use the irc, like the custom commands and what not.
It's not bad for what you did, but you were so excited to write this guide I was hoping for above and beyond good enough.

 

What else should I add? You USE the IRC by talking.

 

There are plenty of commands that I don't even know, I'm still an irc newfag.
Ghost? How to kick people using your nick?
How to set up scripts?
How to ignore people?
Different clients?
How to color/format text? (Ask superman, that bitch <3)
Tons of different commands out there that I can't currently remember.

Your guide isn't bad, but it's very basic.
If all you need to do is sign up and talk, there's no reason for a guide then, eh?

Most of those are mIRC features, not webclient.

OT: You should add that /ns identfiy (password) is a quicker, and easier to remember command.

 

This isn't even a guide, too simple.

 

You should add how to make your own channel
It's rather easy to do but not that many people know it, I get asked how to make a channel all the time on other servers I use.

Hmm, I was actually going to write an mIRC guide. Too late, I guess

 

You can still write an mIRC guide, it has more commands that aren't covered here because they can't be done on webclient. Also, you can make a guide on how to get to the the irc through mIRC as it isn't an easy process for beginners.

 

You might find this useful, to make sure nobody else can stay on your name for too long you can use this:

/ns set kill on
This will give the user 60 seconds to identify before they are kicked off your name.

/ns set kill quick
Same thing but gives them 20 seconds to identify.

You just have to remember to identify yourself otherwise you will be kicked off your own name for a few minutes.

 

These are pretty useless, as you can kick someone instantly.

 

Well it saves having to ghost and can keep people off your name when your not online. Oh well some could find it more usefull then others.
