    Introduction

Hey guys another guide coming to you from Warehouse. This is a quick and easy one on how to setup a music bot for things like Ventrilo. So let's just jump right into it.

    How To

Alright first you'll need to download Ventrilo and get a server that you plan on using to test the bot on. The other two things you need are WinAMP and a Virtual Audio Cable. Here is a reliable VAC that works perfectly. You can download WinAMP from this website.

Now that you have all the required programs what you first need to do is get some music for your bot to play. I'm not going to give any links to places where you can pirate music but Torrents and LimeWire are the two best ways to get music for free. I believe you can also export MP3 files from iTunes and use them in WinAMP. After you have a decent amount of music to play it's time to go edit your settings, if you're confused with my instructions I have several images for you to follow.

First you want to open WinAMP and then go to Options and Preferences. The go down and find the Output options and hit Configure.

After you're in the configuration you want to select the VAC as the output device. Once you have it selected hit apply and then ok. You may now exit WinAMP and can now open Ventrilo.

Now that we're in Ventrilo, create a custom username purely for the Music Bot, feel free to name it whatever you want. Find a random server to go test on (there are plenty of free servers out there, find them on your own). Once logged in go into settings and then change the output device to the VAC.

Once that's done you want to mute all Input sound coming into the VAC because if you don't whenever someone speaks in the channel that the Music Bot is streaming it will echo.

These are the settings I recommend using on the Music Bot profile.

Once you have that done, you're ready to go! Open up WinAMP and login with the Music Bot then select some music and play. To make sure it works, all you need to do is create a shortcut for Ventrilo and then open properties and where it has the path to the .exe file after the " put a space and then -m. This will allow you to open multiple Ventrilo windows, so you can login with your main profile and make sure that the bot sounds alright and isn't too loud/quiet.

Although I don't know the best settings to make the quality of the sound better I do know that if your computer has a lot of stress (if you're playing a game or have a bunch of programs running) the music bot WILL lag and sound like crap. You don't want to turn the WinAMP sound up too loud as this will cause a distortion, what you want to do is set it to where it has the best quality and then change the outbound in the Ventrilo setup for the music bot.

    Conclusion

This method SHOULD work for other programs such as Teamspeak but as far as I know I've only tested it on Ventrilo, feel free to play around with other programs though.

If you have any questions or comments they are welcome, also if you have any problems in following the guide and think that an area needs improvement feel free to tell me what you think should be added/changed. Thanks for reading this guide and I hope you enjoyed it!
