Which Lure is this?

I keep seeing people saying "Free (insert whatever item here), show inventory!!" I know this is a scam but I'm trying to figure out what they are doing. I'm not sure if this is the one where they teleport you with the lunar spells to like 55 wild or something with your inv? or if they start talking to you from there to start luring you to varrock.

 

The "Scammer" tells you to put up your inventory. then the "Scammer" puts up the food. They both accept thinking that the person getting scameed forgot that he put up his inventory.

 

Ahh that scam.

When they say 'free (whatever), show invy', they will put up 28 of that item up for trade. Since you have to have an empty inventory for that trade to happen, if you had items in ur invy during the trade..you'd want to put up those items for trade so u can accept the free whatever. The scammer pretty much hopes that you put up items that are worth a lot of gp. If your items aren't worth more than the free stuff they're giving, they will most likely decline the trade.

Haha true. My mistake for categorizing this as a "lure" than lol. Pretty stupid if anyone falls for this >.>

Some people do fall for it though. They don't realize their items are still on the trade screen.
