How To Stop Scammers (Account Sellers)

Okay, I've decided to post this thread because I literally see almost half of the threads in all the account sections all scammers. Well, I've decided to show you guys on how to stop these scammers once and for all!

1. Recovery Pictures

-Your just gazing at this picture, wondering if its alright and not edited. Well, you could do this:

a)Check the bottom message where Jagex gives us worthless information, now log into any account of yours! Now, before you press the PLAY RUNESCAPE button, check the information, is it the same as the one you saw in a thread? If not, this is probably a scam due to that the picture is that old. Or, just ask the owner to change the Pictures with recent ones.

b)If this guy has MSN/AIM, PM him. Now if your interested, offer and stuff, then, ASK FOR THE RUNESCAPE NAME! Once you receive the name, go to Runescape.Com. Go to the section "Recover A Lost Password". Insert the name, then select "Someone Else Knows My Recovery Questions." Now, when it pops out, it will list the first 5 recovery questions. LOOK AT THESE! When there are no recoveries, the picture should look like this:

Also, this account is all the way F2P. You could tell by the questions, there are no questions asking about how your account has been members.

On the other hand, this account DOES have recoveries and membership (above)


2. Skills

-You are amazed by the skills, but this can be deadly and can be easily edited. You can simply prove this account by 2 simple steps:

1. Ask the owner to meet him with you face to face. Then, look at his account name and check the highscores and Runescape.Com, or just at any Forums that offers a Combat Level calculator.

2. Ask others who had bought accounts from this owner and ask questions about the owner such as: Did ***** scam? Did ***** say anything about his/her account? Stuff like that.


3. Price

-You could never be too sure about the price. So just remember this:

LOOK AT PEN'S PRICE CHECK THREAD, THIS IS REALLY REALLY HELPFUL!

If the price is too low, then assume its a scam. But if this guy says hes quitting Runescape, just let him be.



EDIT:Maybe if you MODs are nice, make this a sticky? Cause a lot of people aren't gonna see this thread on this section

sorry but this got to get out ... i was going to sell my lvl 62 bunny ears noob to u gara and u offered 20k bronze arrows and 1.4m and u tryed scamming so stop trying to cover shit up noob.. ur no better then all of the other stupid ass noob scammers. the funny thing is ur lucky my paint isnt working otherwise u woulda been banned emediatly...

Cr1mes, excuse me? First, I said no, I didnt want because the account had recoveries. Second, you even declined to my offer. Please don't try to ruin my rep and this thread.

 

haha ok ill let u get away with this only because my paint isnt working.. just to let u kno dont let it happen again cause theres alot of people out that that also report other then scam noob.

No actually. They could sell their Mills they received for real money.

 

And, anyone with posts can be scammers.

Take Mithirl Ore for example. He had 700 Posts and scammed over 5 accounts.

EDIT: Don't talk like that Cr1mes. Anyone can have posts, but not a certain account

y u making this thing ...if u scammed my lvl 90 and 43 ..i want them back ...ice king own and alcaponee400....he said 5m for alcaponee400 and i said ok .. we used mod...turns out the mod ..was his other acount w1tch--craft ...... then he said nabor was the mod...i was willing to acept that.
then he said we could trade acc's me ice king own for w1tch craft ...... i had about 2 days on it when he got it back....kept asking if i was going to make it member ..i asid in a little ..i guess it was ganna be to late for him so he took it back......true storie....i never scamm and i hate scammers...
