How to stay 40 def

Hey guys, been seeing 40 def pures in bh with barrows gloves, mm2 completed and having accepted the rewards from mm1. How do I achieve the same build without getting 42 def?

 

iirc just dont do the myerditch or wgs quest lines

The while Guthrix sleeps quest line has fremmy trials which gives venge. These other accounts somehow have 40 def with the vengeance as well

 

I'm not seeing a way its possible with MM2 training complete - are you 100% sure thats the case?

 

Yeah definitely, I feel like some bugs have been used. Was curious if anyone knew
