How to start investing?

I currently have about $500 that I would like to at least double or triple by the summer. I can't get a job because I'm too busy with college apps+ school work. I want to start investing but have no idea where or how to start. I would appreciate it if someone explained how to start investing or post a link that explains it.

 

You might want to start by speaking to some friends of yours taking broker classes, or accounting/finances in general. These people tend to have some good ideas what do do with money(;

 

Find something you can invest in that you KNOW will generate profit.

invest in a low risk company that will probably not crash. Like Mcdonalds or Target. I reccommend Mcdonalds to be honest

 

alright your getting a little ahead of yourself with double or tripling but silver would be a great investment right now, buy as many silver eagles as you can!

 

You are asking to triple your initial investment in one year (without any risk?), this is technologically impossible. It is the same thing as saying you want to turn $1,500,000 into $4,500,000 in one year as all investments return in percentages.

Your honest best bet would be to go into the casino and bet $500 on red/black on roulette and repeat. If you're lucky enough to get to $1,500 then good on ya - you've got a pretty good chance mind you.

Other than that you may be interested in advertising in the local paper to fund a business idea - this would give you an opportunity to enter a really cool world of new ideas and inventions - some people only need under $500 to fund a really cool project or business that could, potentially return over 1000% of your investment. Make sure you get a good deal out of it if you go ahead with it.

Alternatively you could buy an ounce of weed, sell really expensive grams and make $1,500 in a few days, just follow the ten drug commandments, 2 & 4 are the most important - 2. never let no one know how much dough you hold, 4. never get high on your own supply.

 

Don't sell drugs as the person above mentioned... Anyone with common sense will know it's a bad idea. Mess with the law and karma will get you back hard.

I would invest in a share of a stable company; McDonald, Apple, etc...

Also, don't go to a casino; without any real self control, you can turn your gains into debts.

 

If you want to risk it, start with a start up company. I remember a friend of mine invested in a company that got bought out by starbucks. Guy is rich lets just say that.

 

I think that OP is asking for the steps to invest, not what to invest in.

 

Okay for one thing he's asking to TRIPLE his initial investment. Why in the hell would be invest in McDonalds a company whose shares either rise or fall by .02 everyday. There's no money to be made there. Just buy and sell RSGP this would be the most efficient method without much effort

With that money you could buy computer parts and assemble them, then sell it as a complete computer (with Windows 7, CS5, etc). You could make some money there, and then invest it again on a better computer. Just throwing a little idea there.

 

or you could invest in rsgp . buy for cheap sell for more.

 

I highly doubt this.

 

Its almost impossible to double your principle in this short period of time (8 months or so). The more risky your investment the higher your yield, in theory that is.

 

I would suggest investing it in either RSGP or stamps.Stamps are raising in price all the time escpecially if you buy the old ones like penny blacks or penny reds. Earlier on this year i brought a book and it had a sneaky penny red in. This penny red was worth £200 on ebay .

Oh and don`t do what people above do and risk it .

I really do its a twist to the martingdale betting system. That's all ill say cuz I'm not going to leak it. I plan on making plenty of money off this when I turn 21.
I went to ceasers palace in atlantic city when I was up there working. I didn't gamble because if they found out I wasn't 21 they would have taken all my chips. I told my dad about the system and he didn't see anything wrong with it so we went to try it and it worked 3 night s in a row then we finished working and came back to georgia.
