How to set up a software specefic VPN - Burden

Starting you off

What is a VPN?
First off: this is the VPN I will be using in this tutorial http://www.projectloki.com/

A VPN, or virtual Private Network Is like a tunnel. Basically, say you open up an IRC client.
What happens when you do that is your computer sends the packets to the IRC client, and sends your information to the servers to connect you, using your IP address, ect. With Loki VPN client connected, what happens when you open up an IRC client is it sends all your packets and information to the Loki servers, they encrypt everything, hiding you completely, and bounce off of the Loki computers into the server for the IRC, so instead of your information being sent to the IRC client, they get Loki's information, and no one can see who you are.

What is this useful for?
Well, if you want honesty it can be used for all sorts of things, legal and illegal, but since this is PawnGame, and I liked my name to NOT have a slash through it, I'll keep to the legal sides of things.
You can for one, hide yourself goign on websites you are not sure about, such as *******'d links, you can hide yourself connecting to an unfamiliar IRC where you fear an attack from, you cans end emails without worrying about your IP address being sent to the person receiving the email.
You can of course, hide yourself for many reasons.

Legalities
Using this for personal safety is A OK SKIPPER.
I doubt you would manage to get caught, but if you get caught using it to hide yourself, say hacking the school website, (lul) you will be in some deep stuff, since of course what you are doing is illegal.

Kay, so it cost anything?
Loki is 100% free, never given me any problems either.
I prefer it over any thing such as proxies, ect.

The steps

Downloading Loki and using it

First off, http://www.projectloki.com/



Extract and install the program.

Install anywhere you wish.
Now, after installing it, open up the client with the desktop icon.





NOW, you should see




And you are all set.
