What is happening to 07gp prices?

Man they're so low now..gold merchers purchasing them for about $.85/m

Weren't they at least $1/m like a week ago?

 

If I'm not mistaken its the "back to school" price drop guess we can just hope it will rise back.

 

Why does everyone think the prices will stay around 1$ forever? Someone explain the logic behind this to me. RS 3 started off years ago at like 45$ a mill. Now it's 0.16$ per mill ish. Price drops eventually due to the age of the age associated with the insane amounts of gold coming in the game every hour.

 

Understandable, I'm just wondering what caused such a massive drop in prices though. ~15% in 2-3 weeks is massive

 

07 has floated around $1-$1.2/m for roughly a year before this recent price decrease, in my opinion this drop was long overdue.

 

There's way too much gold in the game to expect merchants to be paying $1/m. With that being said with the rise of several new gold businesses wanting to undercut each other, .9/m is a reasonable buying price.

I agree that it's not normal for the price to crash by nearly 20% in one month but that's expected here and there.

 

It's a very normal process as last end of summer prices barely changed which was way more weird than this happening. Imo it's because the popularity of RS is dwindling but RS is one of those "money" games which means that there is potential to make money and has always been known for it. The sad part about that is that the market is saturated with sellers and websites (and that's an understatement by far). If a game loses popularity and the amount of sellers stays the same and ontop of that there are still way to much botters who bring money into the game then you can expect major crashes. People have been asking me what will happen with the coming gold sinks and i'll say it here as well What will happen is ... nothing. Price will perhaps reach 1$ again. Then when the fun of raids is over it will drop again and probably stay around 0.70$/M - 0.90$/M for a while untill the next major drop. Imo Weath has done a great job keeping the price as steady as he possibly could but eventually there is no way around it, markets get saturated.

 

as far as i know jagex are also going to get more osrs mods for banning bots (possibly shops/traders too), when that happens i believe profit margin for bots will drop by a lot and prices should rise again

 

When you use 6 different VPS', and several mules for each day of the week like us, then we only get occassional bans.

Not trying to brag, but whatever jagex do, there's always a solution. Business is somewhat about solving problems.

The only solution to make gold skyrocket again would to create a gold sink which is bigger than what is being injected, or remove free trade again.

 

You're very wrong my friend if you think i have any problems with rwt bans, and there are way better methods than what you described. And gold sinks only have a very minor effect, because it doesn't really change what bots/stakers make in-game

fluctuating/defluctuating gold prices simply coincide with the demand for them/supply of the goods.

The recent inconsistencies could probably be related to the general decrease in the amount of osrs players. (from what I have gathered)

I've set our price to $1.20/m and intend to stay there for a while as we are literally low/out of stock consistently.

I believe its stabilizing @ buy .85-.95 and sell $1.10-$1.20

 

Seems to me gold is slowly rising as well.

 

From what I know, what caused it to drop before this drop was a rat catchers bug that brought in bills. Then well people not playing makes people want to sell their gold because of school, but when those financial aid checks hit...The demand I think will start peaking again.
