How To Create Spot-Light Moving Text On Sony Vegas 7.0

How to create spotlight moving text on vegas.

This guide will show you how to create one of the best text effects (in my opinion) on Sony Vegas 7.0. This can come in handy for any video introductions, or credits etc.

1) Click the tab "Media Generators" on the bottom, and then click text down the left hand side.



2) Drag the "Simple Text" on to an already inserted video track.



3) Type the text which you want the text to say, then cross the pop-up.



4) Click the "Video FX" box on the bottom, and select "Light Rays" down the left side.

5) Drag where it says "Moderate Light Rays onto your text.



6)A pop-up should come up, drag the small dot to the left centre, as shown in the picture.



7) Click to the middle of the text sequence, then click the small plus (or add) button on the bottom, this will add a new keyframe.



8) Now click to the end of the text sequence, and add another keyframe, move the light source to the right side.



9) Now cross it, and play your text, it should use as if a "search light" is passing over it.



10) You can also change the position of the light source (little grey thing) for different effects.

You can now make your own search light text using vegas. Thankyou.

 

I have Sony Vegas, but have never used it. Looking at those screenshots, It looks exactly like the older "Video Explosion" by Nova Development.
