How to run bots on a server

i remembering reading I think Snowmans guide on how to run a bot farm and I think I understood everythign except for how the server works and how to run a bot on it. From what I think a server is a computer just without a screen or GUI or somthing. I know bots are gone (for now) and Im not really looking to run a bot farm but I just didint get it and it has bothered me for about a week now. someone please help me with a descriptive answer. pictures would be godly. thanks!

A server (which, in general, would be referring to a VPS (Virtual Private Server) ) is a *computer* that is not hosted locally, but that you are given access to (at least, access to the resources) that you can rent out on a monthly/weekly/yearly long basis.

It runs one of a number of Operating Systems (OS's)

You are correct when you say "it has no screen" - being that you are accessing the server from a home/local computer, the output is given through your monitor/screen.

    If you'd like more information, I recommend this - ( http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Botting+on+VPS+tutorial )

Anytime - Check that first link (the rsbuddy one) - That will give you loads of interesting and good information.

Also, edited my main post a bit, clarified a few things.

How to run bots on a server

Is it possible to run RiD on a server because When i visited their website yesterday (couldnt get it to run but I didint really have time to go over it so Im sure it will be fine once I get time to DL it properly) it seemed like everything worked fine. So with Kjmt's goldfarming guide it seemed that he just bought lisenses and botted them on a server. Would i be able to do that on a VPS server?
