Ranging cheaply

I am currently training ranged on one of my accounts using magic shortbow and iron arrows. They are pretty cheap and exp is quite mediocre. Was wondering if there is some way that is better exp/h with slightly more cost. Already tried steel arrows and it was not worth it - around 15-20% more exp/h at 2.6x the price.

Any ideas on rune xbow and iron bolts? Iron knives? Something else?

They all seem too expencive when considering the costs. Iron knifes are a lot more expencive then iron arrows and it throws them extremely fast. Bolts are expencive but slower. Thoughts?

Some statistics. My fit is fury, red dhide vamps and pants and magic shortbow.

Iron Arrows
Cost: 10gp/each
Exp/h: 31k exp/h

Steel Arrows
Cost: 27gp/each
Exp/h: 33.5k exp/h

Basically, If you are cheap like me - Use Iron Arrows, the gain of steel arrows is just too tiny compared to price difference.

 

If you really want to be cheap use sling. I train with sapphire (e) bolts and mith arrows and its not too expensive with accumulator.

 

I dont want to be extremely cheap, just not too overly expencive while keeping my exp/h up.
I do not pick up arrows and its a place where accumulator does not work either. I would use mith+ too if it wouldve worked.

 

You could use bronze knives, they are quite cheap.

Still butthurt Joe? I think I gave you pretty good reply there Joe. If you dont know how to quest attack without gaining defence, you really need to learn the game more before making a pure.

 

Try using a cannon at blue drags are green drags i got 70 range from that a while back and i also made alot of $$$$

 

i knew i could quest 47 defence through quests bet you didnt? also i though they might have brough more quests out and if you dont know how to effectivly train range cheaply you need to learn more about range before trying it.

but on a brighter note have you tried the troll invasion way get a magic shortbow and iron arrows use the spec and go to the table that refills your spec and re-do...

 

msb, mithril arrows at waterfall fire giants is good xp, did this on my pure for 82-91 before soul wars was released

The best thing to do is wear the highest d'hide armor set for your level and wield bronze knives. Try training on Ogres
