how do i add cool text???

hi, i am new to photoshop and im trying to make a cool orb.
ive tryed for around 30min-1hr now and i cant figure out how to put thhat really cool text that is in my avitar onto my orb. please help? ive downloaded it and everything but i cant get it into photoshop.

Ummm, not sure what you mean but click text (looks like "T" in the toolbox) and drag a box on the orb to create a square. Select font,size,color... on the top...

To install new font go to: Control panel->Fonts-> Click File- Instal new font and choose the font you downloaded.





Thats as much as I can help...Everything that has to do with photoshop(color,texture,shadow) i am not good with

 

ok i did that...but i want the font on photoshop. ive already downloaded it and i just need to no howto use it on photoshop.

unzip the font in the map C:\\WINDOWS (or WINNT)\FONTS

if u have photohop open while doing this, u might have to save your sig (as .psd) and close photoshop and start it back up

 

Do you mean text effects?

Click on the text layer, then on the layer toolbar click "fx" and play around with those....

if thats what you mean...

 

Ok, here's what you do...

1: DL the font you want
2: Open the unextracted file, and extract it (you'll see the button)
3: Open the extracted file, and you should see text's icon (if you click on it, it will give sample letters of the text ie "The quick brown fox...".
4: (If you use Mac too bad) Click start and open your control panel
5: Find the Fonts folder in your Control Panel
6:Open the Fonts folder
7: Drag the text file you just DL'ed to the Fonts folder and wait for it to finish transferring.
8: Go on PS and use your new font.

 

If you already have the font just do. Go to
C:\\Windows\Fonts
Then put in the font file, and you should be ready to go.

Your supposed to
1. download the font
2. extract it to a folder
3. open the folder u extracted the font to
4. open control panel -> fonts
5. drag the font from the folder to "fonts" in control panel
6. open photoshop
7. click the T
8. scroll down and find the font your looking for '

hope this helps

 

once you have installed the font it should be in photoshop. if not try restarting photoshop and if that doesnt work try restarting the computer.

 

THE PROPER STEPS!

Your supposed to
1. Download font of your choice..
2. Extract it to a folder of your choice.
3. Open The Corresponding folder.
4. Open Control panel.. then Click FONTS
5. Drag the font from the folder to "fonts" in control panel
6. Watch It Install. ( Should Just see a Blink , Unless more than 10 fonts at once are being installed )
7. Open Photoshop
8. Click The "T" icon
9. Type whatever you want.
10. Highlight the text.
11. Select your font choice.
DONE!
