Brix's Begginers guide to a GOOD Boxing Routine.

Hello its Brix, I have noticed a few people have read my hobbies and said to me on Msn that there interested in Boxing & they want to start, my answer is GET STRAIGHT INTO IT! Boxing is one of the greatist sports known to man
    (Thats just my opinion).
With this guide you should lern some basic Routines to start off at your house or local Gym.

    Tips:

    1. Condition
    - If you can't even a round in the ring and not get your energy back and ready to fight again then you should not be in the ring. Boxing is a great workout as it covers everything from strength training, agility, speed, and power (Also if someone is a smart arse to you on Sythe you can say you know boxing :p). Everything you do should be thought out and planned already!

    2. Skills
    - You have to lern basic Boxing skills & Techniques so you can show it and bring it into the ring. It means knowing why you are throwing a jab before a right cross or why you slip to the outside. In a fight or in the ring, your brain will shut down and your body will rely on what it has been trained to do. If in a fight and you come prepared with a game plan and rely on your training you will no doubt win the fight.

    3. Eating
    - If you would like to become a boxer you can't be eating 2 Minute noodles and sugerd foods every day. You need to stick to eating healthy, a week before a fight eat pasta and rice and a day before the fight drink 4 liters of water if you want to bring out the best of your ability.

    4. Planning
    - Completing a boxing routine requires some major thought n actully sticking with your plan. You have to plan numerous workouts, create an efficient meal plan, make sure you are getting plenty of rest, and make sure you live your life aswell. Time management is crucial and If self discipline is not your strong point dont even bother to think that you can be the next Contender! :)

    5. Material Protection
    - Well, keeping your guard up isnt all you need to have good clothing protection. Someone good things to wear to prevent face injury, brain injury, hand injury and mouth injury would be:[/COLOR]

    -Mouth Guard
    -Boxing Mits/ Gloves
    -Head Gear/ Protection
    -Right Boxing shoes
    -A Cup

I thought this table would help some of you people on sythe and what you mite actully need to do or be in for.
    Brix's Strengh Workout:
    1. Pushups - Do 25 Push Ups in 1 miniute and do 5 sets of them.
    2. Pullups - Do 10 Pull Ups in 1 minute and do 5 sets of them.
    3. Chinups - Do 15 chinups in 1 minute and do 5 sets of them.

    Brix's Warmup:
    1. Skipping - Count to about 40 loops in 1 minute and do 3 sets of them.
    2. Shadowboxing - Continue to throw Light jabs with an open plam whilst ducking and weaving and concentrating on the bag for 5 minutes striaght.

Oh, and brain damage is included.

Great guide, but not in-depth enough.

Brix's Begginers guide to a GOOD Boxing Routine.

it is an ok guide but more things could be added - equipment, go into more depth about the diets. From my experience doing boxing i never had a planned routine and i was sparring(practise fighting) within the first month i started. I was going to be doing official fights and im not the what you would call fit. I know many boxers who smoke/dont have an amazing diet. Boxing is more than just being fit and able to survive in a ring. 5/10

I actually thought this was a good guide. For beginners, this will definitely help. I don't you think that you could do much more this unless you were to elaborate on things like the diet and stuff like that. Maybe make your own food log of you what you eat on a day to day basis and post it here so people can see what an example of a good diet would be? That's about the only advice I can offer for this guide. Other than that, it is pretty good :)
