    1.0 - Introduction

This guide will go over making huge profit by merchanting.
Basically, the price of items go up and down in the grand exchange based on demand.
If eveyone wants an item, then that item's cost will go up.
If everyone is selling an item, that item's cost will go down.
Believe it or not, the market is not manipulated by individual merchanters...but CLANS!
Some good clans include amplive and cmrobins. I don't really know any others.
Basic merchanting knowledge is recommended before attempting these merchanting techniques.

    2.0 - Steps

Basically, this is how clan merchanting works:
Someone, almost always the clan leader, will choose an item to "buy out". After announcing this item, everyone in the clan will go to the Grand Exchange, and buy this item at a high price. By basic demand, the cost of this "item" will rise up quickly. A few days later, after this item has gone up in the grand exchange, the clan will sell all these items at a much higher price for huge profit.

Lets start off with an example....
    Join the clan: Amplive
(amplive is a well know merchanting clan thats is pretty trustworthy)

Once you have joined amplive clan chat, ask people what the clan is "buying out". They will graciously tell you.

Buy as much of this item as desired. Obviously, the more you buy, the more potential for profit you have. If you are unsure, do not invest all of your gold into this item. The next day, that item will rise in the grand exchange. This is because every person in that clan (people with high capital) is buying that item. Because everyone is buying out that item, and no one is selling, demand goes up. Therefore, its price will rise in the grand exchange. Make sure you dump the item at the "dumping price" or earlier. You can find the dumping price by asking people in the clan.

    Example:
I bought 230 rune full helms for 20k each

As expected, rune full helm rose all the way up to 26k, where it was dumped

230 rune full helms x 6k profit off each one = 1,380,000 gold.

The more gold you start out with, the more profit you can make.
With 1 mil gold you can make 300k
With 10 mil gold you can make 3 mil
with 100 mil gold you can make 30 mil.
With 1 bil gold you can make 300 mil.
    Profit is exponential!

Combine this with other skills such as mining or woodcutting and you can gain huge profit with little work.

    3.0 - Overview

    1) Join a merchanting clan (amplive, cmrobins, etc.)
    2) Find out what is being bought out.
    3) Buy that item.
    4) Wait for the items to go up in grand exchange. This can take anywhere from 2-10 days.
    5) Sell when the items price has peaked (dumping).
    6) Enjoy your easily earned money.

    5.0 - Merchanting Secrets
These are just some tips that merchants don't want you to know, because they are evil and selfish.

    - Merchanting secret #1
Buy 1 gold above average price if your trying to buy something. Also if its an exact number, buy 1 gold above it. Example if you are buying a dark bow for 900k, try buying for 900,001 gold instead.

    -Merchanting secret #2
Don't Dump at the dumping price! Dump a little earlier. You can see why merchanters don't want you to know this. If you wait too long, you will not be able to sell your items at all!

    6.0 - Warnings and Tips

Being patient, cautious, and following these tips could make or break you.

It is good to invest your money in different items.

Be Patient! If something is not selling or buying right away, that does not mean it will not sell or buy eventually!

Ask for help if you do not know what to merchant. Do not blindly follow the trend.

Careful when listening to people with no rank. People with ranking in the clan are pretty trustworthy though.

Make sure to check the grand exchange charts before buying out an item. If something seems strange, do not buy. Be patient.

Do not buy if the item is already gone pretty high up. Sell before the item is going down on the chart.

Do not blame the clan if you lose profit. They hold no obligations.

Trying to buy rune full helms too late. Its price is already rising so it will be difficult to get your hands on these items. Buying at max price and not getting an item is a huge signal that that item will go up in the grand exchange after update. Likewise, buying an item at lowest price and getting that item is a huge signal that that item is being dumped. As you can see though, I already have 169 rune full helms because I bought early.

Patience! Patience! Patience! I can not stress this enough. Patience is the key to merchanting.

    7.0 - Facts and Questions

Q: How much gold can I make from merchanting?
A: Depends on your luck. You can make 20-100% profit per item.

Q: [Clan Name] clan was empty?
A: Yes... that does not mean that the clan is inactive. Try going online at another time.

Q: How do I know when to buy? How do I know when to sell?
AMonitor the graphs shown in the grand exchange market price. If the slope is slowing down, it will probably change direction. Ask clans such as amplive and cmrobins for assurance and guidance.

Q: Is merchanting/price manipulation even allowed?
A: Yes, it actually is allowed. It does not fall under any of the categories: bug, autoing, offensive language, item scamming, password scamming, jagex staff impersonation, account sharing/trading, macroing, multiple log in, advertising, real world trading, or asking for personal details.
Also, if it was not allowed, Clans like amplive and cmrobins would have been banned a long time ago. We cannot be banned for simply buying or selling a large amount of an item. Jagex knows about how the market works, as they are the one who implemented the grand exchange.
Yes, Jagex does not promote price manipulation. However, simple merchanting (Without clan) and following the grand exchange charts, is actually "manipulating the market" Everything that you buy in runescape on the grand exchange will "manipulate the market." Therefore, everyone in the entire game is subconsciously "price manipulating". Jagex obviously can not ban every person on runescape. Even as a clan, jagex has no viable reason to ban merchanters.
Merchanting in a clan is no different then a "group of people" merchanting one item, individually. Jagex can not ban an entire clan of merchanters as none of them as individuals have broken any rules.
Therefore, although price manipulation/merchanting is not promoted, it is 100% allowed.
Calling price manipulation a "Bug" is a play on words. The grand exchange was implemented by Jagex. Buying a large quantity of an item cannot be considered a "bug" or exploitation of a bug. A bug is a glitch in the game not implemented by the game designers. Therefore, merchanting and price manipulation cannot be placed under the category as a bug.
No person on runescape has been banned for merchanting as of date. One person can not manipulate the market by himself. Jagex cannot ban a group of people who are merchanting one item.
