Beginners Guide to Metaphysical Experiences with CK!

    Meditation Is Power

Hello Sythers! Good morning/afternoon/evening to you all.

This guide is a bit unorthodox really, insofar as it does not relate to what most of the other guides are about. Things like lifting and physical fitness, how to avoid scammers and such. In fact, it effectively transcends the physical world if done properly. This is the first part of a multiple-part guide series I will be releasing on various metaphysical subjects and processes that anyone (yes, even you!) can use to experience "spiritual activity." This first section is a guide to practicing meditation.

Now, there are many different views on meditation, so obviously there are a plethora of different methods used to approach it. Some going back to Zen Buddhism, and some are just coming around with the New Age spirituality that seems to be spreading ever-so-rapidly. However in this particular guide we are going to be focusing on learning a very basic and commonplace technique that should ease newcomers into the experience. It's really quite easy.

To begin, you'll need a comfortable place to sit or rest. It is ideal to be placed in an area where you will likely not be disturbed or otherwise distracted. It is
important to the process as a whole that you are fully focused. Because of this, I highly recommend turning your phone off or putting it away, closing all doors and windows, etc. Once you are appropriately situated, you will need to assume a meditation posture. There are dozens of these, but the following image presents six basic poses that will all work splendidly for our purposes. I suggest Burmese or Half Lotus.

Now comes the fun part, where you actually begin to meditate.

Begin by relaxing all muscles in your body. Special areas to pay attention to are the face, neck, scalp, shoulders and chest. If you are having trouble easing the tension in these areas, try a genetle rub or soft massage to loosen them up. Or perhaps before you begin you could drink a cup of hot herbal tea. Once relaxed, gently close your eyes. You are going to a sacred place deep inside of yourself where nothing else matters. Slowly, calmly, let all earthly thoughts and attachments melt away. They are slowly fading, falling out of your conscious thoughts and into the background. Breathe in deep through your nose, filling your lungs and your belly, and release all that no longer serves you.

Your objective here is to clear your mind of all thoughts, and focus 100% of your attention on your breathing. This is often referred to as Mindfulness Meditation. You must always stay mindful of your breath. Oxygen is universal energy. As you breath in deeply through your nose, filling your lungs and your belly, feel the sublime sensation of the universe's energy coming in to you and filling your soul with pure light.

As you attempt to stay mindful of your breathing, it may become difficult to fully clear your mind of unwanted thoughts. It is often referred to as your Monkey Brain, Mind Chatter, or Babbler. It is when you consciously attempt to silence the constantly-working mind that intrusive thoughts become very prevalent. Balancing your checkbook, going to work tomorrow, making dinner, picking up the kids, etc. This is totally normal and in fact seems to be the most common problem for beginners. It will pass with time and practice. It is important to note that when these thoughts enter your mind, you DO NOT try to push them away. Forcing them back is only giving way to more thoughts and more struggle, and takes away focus and energy from the true task at hand. Instead, whenever an unwanted thought makes itself known, you should simply let it pass. To fight an unwanted thought is to instantly lose the battle to that thought. You must only watch them all enter and pass like normal thoughts so often do, holding no opinion or focus on them, and continue breathing as your mind quiets.

Achieving a truly silent mind and focusing all attention on your breathing is the main goal of this beginner's guide to metaphysical studies. This state of pure quiet is amazing. It allows your mind a very rare opportunity to settle, renew, and rejuvenate itself within this state. Almost without fail after meditation, I feel light, energetic, and bestowed with renewed and refreshed mental clarity. It is an excellent way to start or end your days. I suggest meditating just after waking up or just before getting into bed at night. And no, you don't need to meditate for hours every day to receive these wonderful benefits. In fact, doing that is a lot harder than you probably think it to be. A simple 15, 10, or even 5 minutes every day is a phenomenal starting point.

I should note, as with most things, meditation is different for every individual. Do not take anything in this guide as absolute or unflinchingly rigid in structure. Find your perfect medium and enjoy the balance. Questions, comments, concerns, and feedback are always welcome.

    Namaste.

The concept of user-created guides kind of makes this question seem silly. Yes, I wrote this.
