What are you using it for? Gaming, it would be good, just random work would be better. Get a 400W power supply. For a fan, you may be able to use just the fans on the case. My computer does, and I only have 2 fans... Anyways, for network adapter, get a Linksys wireless card. XP is good for that too... It will be stable, and hell no, you wouldn't need more RAM, that's DDR3, buddy.

Ok, thanks for the information, but I'm sure running 2 graphics cards will require more than a 400W power supply?

Also, I've decided I'm just going to use an ethernet cable for the internet connection.

How would I be able to make it better for gaming?

    Hello Miss799 Apprentice

    Custom Computer [Need Advice]

Your running 2 4850 cards in crossfireX mode? I'd jump to atleast a 750W psu.

Slow down on the RAM you only need probably about 2GB of ddr3.

I also have a q6600 and for a fan, try the artic cooling freezer pro 7. It works great let me overclock to 3.0Ghz.

Make sure the HD's have a high RPM for fast loading times, also would you be running those 2 HD's in RAID?

Antec nine hundred? I'd definitely get something larger. Try the Cooler Masters cosmos case. They are high in quality.

I'm assuming that you're gaming on this so just get Vista and you'll have DX10 graphics.

Will it be stable?yes it should run fine as long as all the parts are compatible, like the mobo supporting the DDR 1066 (cant click links to find out tabs broken -.-)
Will I need more memory?no 3GB should be fine for that set up.Especially 1066
What kind of power supply would I require?I would get a good power rated 650 watt PS

Ohhh, didn't see that there were 2 graphics cards. Yeah, I'd say a 750W power supply. If you wanted a better ethernet connection, get a killer network card. www.killernic.com. Some of the best network cards ever. Good Luck.

Power Supply: Try get a dual Rail one if possible, anything from 500w and upwards. Names to look out for are coolermaster, antec, enermax, hiper and theres a few US only brands but not sure of them as i live in uk

CPU Fan: The Artic Cooler Freezer is a good and very cheap heatsink, But if you want something extrememly effective then go with something like a zalman cooler. (Although the stock one that comes with the cpu will be fine unless you plan to over clock it)

I wouldn't recommend getting 64bit XP. Mainly because hardly ANY programs will work on xp 64bit. I had the same problem and means i have to use vista 64bit, as its much more compatible.. but also vista ;/.

Your motherboard won't take advantage of a Triple Channel RAM configuration so you might as well get something that's a better deal.

I would suggest you should go with this. You get an extre Gigabyte of memory for 20 pounds less, this capitalizes on your motherboard's dual channel functionality, it leaves 2 DIMM slots empty for future upgrades (as opposed to one). In exchange for all these benefits, the only downgrade is that the RAM operates at 1066 and not 1333MHz which won't have much of an effect considering the Q6600 processor you've selected only operates at a maximum of 1066MHz over the Front Side Bus.

For the power supply maybe this. I think you'll have to get 700W+ though since you're powering those two 4850s.

Also, I disagree with the case because you should be able to find something nicer and/or with more bonuses included for a similar price or cheaper. For example, this gets you a case and 4 fans and it's a dollar less.

Are you sure XP 64 bit doesn't run all programs?

Thanks, I'll probably be getting that memory instead then.
