How to install custom firmware and nitepr on your psp

Items needed

1: a PSP

2: The psp hacking package (I take no credit on making this besides putting it together) Click To Download: PASSWORD: oglitcho

3: A USB cable

Ok if you've acquired all those things we will start by making the magic memory stick

Part 1: The magic memory stick

1: Format your memory stick by going on your psp to Settings>System settings>Format Memory Stick This will erase all data!!!!

2: Open up PSP grader

3: Plug your psp in

4: Load your 3.90 EBOOT that was in your hacking package (its called 390)

5: Select the drive that your psp's memory stick is and hit create pandora stick.



You got a magic memory stick!


Part 2: Getting the pandora battery

There is 3 ways to do this and you can do this and you can search these on google or youtube

1Hardmodding
2:Softmodding (You need custom firmware for this)
3: Buying one from ebay or a online store

Part 4: Installing the firmware!

1: Turn your psp TOTALLY off not in sleep mode

2: Insert the Magic memory stick

3: Hold down L

4: Turn on your psp (Still holding L)

5: Hit X and it will Flash your psp and install CFW!


Part 5 Nitepr

1: Find the nitepr folder in your hacking package

2: Copy SEPLUGINS to your psp

4: Make sure game.txt says

Code:

ms0:/seplugins/nitePR.prx 

5: Go into recover mode on your psp by turning your psp off and turning it on holding R

6: Go to plugins and activate nitepr

7: Plug your psp In and go to a Game File which is a folder like "ULUS-10292" paste a code into it

8: Open up nitepr by hitting home twice and holding Volume + and -

9: Hit the codes that you want and go ingame and hit the Music note button

Might I ask what are the benefits about custom firmware, like can you still play games, what features does it bring, it has to worth something because you are probably voiding your warranty.

 

It allows you to play games from a .iso file that you put into you memory stick.

The main benefit it gives you is being able to enable plugins from the recovery menu.

Also like fatboy said you can run .iso and other game files on your psp.

 

pretty decent.. the worst part is modding your battery.

well buy the pandora on ebay

well i jsut bought a psp slim
and i just opened my slim battery and
just use a niddle to put a scratch on a wire and dats it

but if u have a fat psp battery den u need to do soldering

as for the guy who asked what the benefits for cfw well, you can play iso's plugins and eboot files.
