How to get rid of un-used desktop icons.

How to clean your desktop.

This guide will show you how to clean up the un-used icons on your desktop. If your computer is anything like mine you will have loads of icons cluttering up the desktop, that you rarely don't use, or don't use at all. Cleaning this up is simple, if you follow these simple steps.

1) Right click on your desktop and click properties as shown here.



2) Click on the Desktop tab on the top, and then on "Customize Desktop" as shown in the picture here.



3) Click "Clean Desktop now, as shown in the picture.



4) Click next until you get to this screen. Un-select the shortcuts you want to keep on there, and select the ones you want to get rid of. The wizard will tell you which ones you have ran in the past, as shown in the picture When you have done click next.



5) Double check which shortcuts you have chosen to get rid of, and when you are sure click finish as shown here.



Your computer will now move the unused icons to a folder for them ,your desktop now will be a lot "cleaner" and your un-used icons will be gone.
