How to get through a thick book in a short period of time!

So you want to get through that 500 page book by the end of the week and don't know how? Your at the right place then. :)

First off, this guide WOULDN'T teach you to read through the whole book in an hour or two, that is a bad way of reading and you will remember less of it when the test comes around or even if you just reading it for your self.

    Step 1:

First off, decide what book you want to read and when you want it to have it finished by. If your given an assignment to read a book, and you don't know what book your going to read soon then your in trouble. After deciding what book you will be reading look at the due date or when you want to finish the book by. Lets say you have 1 week ( seven days) and your book is 650 pages long, a good idea would be to read an equal amount of pages per each day. In our explain you will have to read 93 pages per day. Now that sounds like a lot and it can be but if you pace your self you can do it.

    Step 2:

So, 93 pages a day, there are several ways you can do this. The first and the one I would suggest the most would be to read at the beginning and the end of the day. If you try to read through out the day between activities you can't remember what you read as much and you will have other thoughts in your mind. I would only suggest reading during the day if you have a good hour or longer break. The only other time would be on Saturday or Sunday where things are normally slowed down because of the weekend. Another way you can do this is get 60-70 pages a day on the week days and then the rest on the weekend because of time constraints. If your doing this make sure before that you actually have the time on the week end and your not just being lazy and trying to push it off. If your going to get this done your going to have to put effort into it.

    Step 3:

So you have picked your book and when and how long your going to read it. Now you need a place to read. I would suggest if you live in the country side or near a forest or quiet park that you go there. Another good place would be a peaceful area in your house. Although a warning, if you decide to read in your room I would suggest to turn your computer and other electronics off as they will distract you and make the reading process much longer. Once you have a good area try to focus on your book and as hard as it seems try not to think about other activities that you have to do later. Use the time that you set for reading, just for reading. You can have some food or water with you but it may end up hurting you if you focus to much on eating then reading. :p

    In conclusion:

I hope this guide can help you with any books you want to read school related or just on your own free time. Like always if you have any questions or have an issue just pm me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. One more thing, any criticism is greatly welcomed, I would love to see your thoughts on the guide. Thanks. :D

How to get through a thick book in a short period of time!

Nice guide, first to post :D, 8/10, it's very helpful for most people, includes good tips, but I find it pretty easy to finish a 200-400 page book in a day if I have nothing to do.

I love being smart. I had a grade 10 reading level in grade 6 o_O
Now it must be like grade 12.

This guide is neat, and well set out, colors are good and the layout is almost perfect. You used a good amount of pictures too. However that's about all the positives I can pull out for you.

The guide is basically how to read a book, without telling us any techniques to actually get through the book any quicker. The steps are indeed only tips. I can honestly say this guide won't help me. What you've said is something they teach you in the 6th grade.

All in all, your guide looks good, but it lacks any good knowledge. Try and pick a better topic next time.

    3/10.

Upon first appearance I really liked this guide. The guide was well laid out, it was very appealing to the eye, and had a unique concept. The pictures and the font color made it very appealing and was an instant pull to read your guide.

Unfortunately after i began reading your guide my opinion began to go downhill. I will start off with content. There wasn't much to your guide, the three things you chose to right about were gone over pretty well but i feel that you could have added more to the guide, other strategies, more tips, etc.

The biggest problem i had with this guide was your grammar. The way you worded your explanations was at times, terrible. I think you should go back over your guide and word a lot of it differently. Give better flow and sentence structure to your paragraphs.

Keep the guides coming : )
