    The Paleo Manifesto.

    Hey guys,

So I'm reading a book called "The Paleo Manifesto" by John Durant.

I just started it the other day, so I'm only on the 4th chapter right now and from what I can make of it
it's basically a book describing our ancestral habits as humans from 2,600,000 million years ago to
10,000 years ago. The book so far talks about a paleo eating style, which would include staying away
from sugars, grains, processed foods, etc. Basically, the type of food you would eat from reading this
book would be things like whole foods. Steak, chicken, beef, fish, vegetables & fruits grown, but not
any artificial 'man made' processed stuff.

    For the last 4 days, I haven't drank coffee, I haven't eaten any grain, I haven't had sugar, I haven't had
one ounce of processed food. I've noticed my heart burn (almost daily) hasn't spoken to me in 4 days,
my energy levels have been up, and that's about all I have to say so far.

The book is very interesting. It's not just about the food, but about how we lived, situations we got
involved in, how our bodies were, what we hunted, how we hunted, etc. It basically refers to humans
as being "hunter gatherers" before we had automated machines & farms for animals etc.

Anyone else read it? Opinions? I just started.

I am already starting to feel great, it's amazing.
I had one small bit of bread product in the form of a burrito the other day.
I have completely eliminated sugar from my diet.

Haven't read the book but might so now. I've been on the Keto diet/lifestyle which is very similar to the paleo diet for about 6 months now and i feel so amazing/healthy. I think it's the best diet there is IMO since it eliminates sugars and carbs which are very cheap macros compared to fats and proteins which fill you up for longer throughout the day. Before i started this diet i would eat lots of bread, sugar, processed foods and felt like absolute CRAP. Carbs aren't so bad as SUGAR, EVERYTHING has sugar now. We are bombarded with sugar everyday and i think it's the main culprit. Keep on with the diet, i'm doing this for life!

From what I understand you just have to eat 'good carbs' once in awhile.

I've been having a riot with it, but last night I did eat a pizza for a cheat day.

Well i think people's bodies react different to carbs but me personally when i eat carbs i just have brainfog most of the day. Fats and proteins (Mainly fats) give me so much mental energy and clarity its amazing. But i know some people that can't function without carbs so more power to them i guess.;)

Never heard of it, but might try a modified version due to acid reflux.
